On March 19th an article, issued on CD.now, hits the Internet: «(…) A cool site for pop music gossip” (…) Oh boy? this one is gonna ruffle some feathers and tickle others, but either way, it's pretty cool if it goes down. To celebrate the group's 20th anniversary, Duran Duran is said to be in rehearsals with all five original members (that's right, even Roger "I'm Too Big Of A Recluse To Speak To Behind the Music" Taylor) for a possible reunion tour. And guess whose feathers are ruffled the most? That's right, none other than post- 1986 member Warren Cuccurullo, who wasn't exactly privy to the news that this was going down, according to our source. If all goes well, Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Andy Taylor, and Roger will bring the noise to venues by the end of the year or early 2002 - something they have not done as a quintet since their mid-'80s Arena tour. (…)» This rumour about rehearsals for an "original five" reunion tour causes a flurry of debates on Duran message boards and mailing lists.
On March 20th duranduran.com posts the following denial: "The band are currently on tour in the USA having a great time playing the shows and know nothing about the current rumours pertaining to a reunion tour". JT says "We have not rehearsed together is all I can tell you."
