The best kind of bedding to use for Dwarf Hamsters is Carefresh. Carefresh is safe for all small animals and is the perfect bedding "in my opinion" for these little critters. Another good type of Bedding would be Aspen. Aspen is my second choice. Only get it if you really cant get Carefresh. Whatever you decide to use DONT EVER USE CEDAR OR PINE! Both of these beddings contain a chemical known as PHENOL which can cause respiratory problems to Dwarf hamsters. Many times it's even caused them their death. Although pine bedding also has this chemical, it's less harmful then cedar. Only use Pine if you absolutely have to. But please dont ever use cedar. |
