If you want more customers then spend more time on-duty. Players take note of prompt service and of those who are never available. Regular customers tend to automatically ask people who they know will almost certainly be available. The more time you spend off-duty, the more customers you will lose. Offering the taxi free of charge when significantly delayed presents you in a good light. Most customers will still pay anyway, they may even tip. It is not uncommon to have no requests in 3 hours, nor is it uncommon to have 5 requests inside a minute. You can carry your pets. |

The following advice is general and is based on observation rather than research. Still, I hope it proves useful. GP cost: 100 Magic.spells.misc is the main factor in determining how long a door will remain standing. Magic.spells.misc is the main factor in determining how long it takes to cast. Magic.methods.spiritual.banishing is the main factor in determining accuracy. High bonuses in all the methods will significantly reduce casting time. In general bonuses in excess of 200 are required for reliable casting. A bonus in excess of 250 in banishing will reduce the likelihood of misportals to roughly 1 in 10. Burden has a major effect on likelihood of misportals. Note: burden itself, not the -1 dex. High background thaums will increase the likelihood of misportals and other fails. Banishing will TM well from 150-200 bonus and easily from 200-250 bonus. You can 'look enter door' to see if a door is to the correct location. Indeed, when Taxiing it is required that you check the accuracy. Rumbling doors will explode if you attempt to enter, closing the portal. Burning doors can be entered but can deal significant damage. Anything from 30hp to over 500hp per touching of the flames. Touching the flames includes opening, closing, pushing and entering. |
