Hello all of you internet addicts out there, or as we would say in Hawaii, "Aloha!". Welcome to my personal page. Here you will find some what I hope are interesting tidbits about myself and the life I lead. Most of the time I find my endeavors are full of excitement, so hopefully this won't put you all to sleep.
As you may have seen from my Walt Disney Imagineering
home page, you probably already know that I want to one day be a part of
making Disney magic happen by being an Imagineer. If you don't, just
click on the bluish link on the bottom of the page. Because of this
lifelong dream, I am currently in pursuit of a Mechanical
Engineering degree. I have managed a Liberal Arts degree from Leeward
Community College in Honolulu, but as you can guess, that isn't enough.
As far as schooling goes, I more than likely will be attending Valencia
Community College in Orlando to get enough classes before transferring
to the University of Central Florida. During my schooling, I will
try to get internships at both WDW Ride & Show Engineering and WDI.
As far as living in Hawaii it was fun, but
my dreams in life required me to move away for the time being. I
am currently a resident of the state of Florida, and reside in the central
part of the state. Being near the work
I want to do makes finding the right people to talk to much easier.
The pace of life is fast and furious now that I am on my own, but I just
try to remember why I am here, and it makes things a little easier.
I have been working for most of my life. In the 7th and 8th grade, I used to frequently help my dad install glass which was quite rewarding money wise. In my sophomore year at high school, I started working at Taco Bell. This lasted for 3 years, until I felt that the position wasn't as challenging anymore and obtained a position at Liberty House. Liberty House is a Macy's type department store in Hawaii, and I was over in their Men's Store at Kahala Mall. I was working in the Dockers and Better Sportswear department, and managed to become a "floor-okay". This was the job I held for another 2 years, until once again, I needed to be challenged a little more. At the time I was planning on majoring in computer science, so I applied at Computer City in Ward, Honolulu. A week later, I found myself selling software and hardware, working it UOTS, or upgrades on the spot, and P&A, or answering the phone as pricing and availability. The pay was pretty good, the benefits were not too bad, but the company got bought out by another computer retail giant...CompUSA. Well, all employees at my store were basically out of job unless we got transferred. So as history puts it, I went to the interview, and about 2 weeks later, I was again selling software and hardware and doing upgrades again at CompUSA. Altogether, the computer retailing thing lasted about a year and a half until one day at school, I seen a flyer telling everyone about the Walt Disney World College Program.
Well, I sat through the presentation and made
an appointment to get an interview with the Disney recruiters.
I went to the interview, and about 2 or 3 weeks later, I got a notice in
the mail that I was accepted to participate in the WDW College Program
for the Fall 1999 semester. You can guess what I did...I packed my
bags and headed for Orlando! If you want to know about what happened
during that adventure, just go ahead and click on the WDWCP alumni sticker
and it should take you to my WDWCP page. So now I am employed as
a Cast Member at Disney-MGM Studios in Walt Disney World, where I work
in ODF usually as support Cast. I like it, since it is my foot in
the door with the company, and I get to work around stuff that I love.
My circle of friends that I hold dear to my
heart is quite small, but here is my tribute to those that matter:

Clifford Manuel: Cliff was my partner in crime during high school, and is probably the only person I can really trust next to God. He is my only married friend and is now a family man. He is married to Wendi, and has 2 children: Shani and Jarin, who I am one of the Godparents of. He now resides in Seattle, Washington and is employed by Verizon. |

Avin Lucio: Arvin and myself have been close friends since the 7th grade. We both are creative people in our own senses, with him being the musical genius, and me always leaning towards the technical side. He is on the "getting married" list, which I more than likely will not be on until I get close to the age of 30. I consider him a truly dear friend that I honestly don't think I would be able to live without. |

Dave Valdez: Dave is what you can kinda call a "shifty" kind of guy, where you don't really know what his true intentions are, but me and him just get along. We share the same absurd sense of humor which probably is the glue that makes us good friends. The thing that we used to always do, and which we will do again when I go back home is cruise around the island from night until dawn. |

Ara Laylo: Ara used to be Arvin's girlfriend and at one time I even thought they were going to get married. Well, apparently things didn't work out, and much to my dismay, they can't even get along as friends now. Ara and myself have remained good friends even after the breakup...probably because of all the things we have been through together. She is probably the only girl that I look as as a close 'buddy' kind of friend. |

James Lee: James and I probably hang together because we are both computer geeks and birds of a feather flock together. He is also my "rollercoaster" partner because we have gone on several trips to just go and ride theme park rides. Anyway, he is sometimes irritating to me, but I still like him. |

Eric Morimoto: Eric was my best friend in Orlando. He was one of the people in the College Program from Hawaii. We were known to everyone as the Erics, and one was rarely seen without the other close by someplace. Even though we were technically not friends for very long, he is probably one of the guys I miss the most. |
Some of my other hobbies and things include
computers, anything to do with the theme park industry. I
am a big broadway musical buff, and have seen Rent, Cats, Les Miserables
twice (with Lea Salonga as Eponine!), Phantom of the Opera three times,
West Side Story, The Wiz, Miss Saigon, Stomp, Jesus Christ Superstar, and
some local productions of The Fantasticks, Once On This Island, and Sunday
in the Park with George. I have worked in several plays and directed
several Easter plays for my church back at home. I like to play the
Ukulele with Dave and Arvin, and I played with Arvin in the church choir
for a while. The music part was also carried out for a few years
when I DJ'd, with Technics MK 2000's and disco lights and everything.
I even got to DJ a few parties. Another thing that I like to
do is learn magic. I know quite a bit
of card tricks and painstakingly learned a ton of card sleights to do so.
I also do some other magic stuff like small hand sleights and sponge balls
and stuff. It is one of the favorite hobbies that a bunch of us have
on the ODF backdock at Studios...we, or at least I, am always getting in
trouble for it. Lately, the newest bit is DVD's. I just bought
a new home theater system, and I seem to be addicted with buying movies
on DVD. I usually pick either movies I personally really like, or
just have good soundtracks, to make use of the digital surround sound.
Well that is about it, follow any of the links
on the bottom to go to other places on my web site. If you would
like to see some pictures of me and my friends goofing off, click on one
of the galleries below. Other than that, thanks for taking some time
to have an interest in me and humoring a short Filipino from Hawaii.
