Don't We All?...
Have our own special relationship with the Universe....
This is mine.
Welcome to my Photo Gallery.  Many people have been asking if I have a way to showcase my photography.  Hence, this page.

I guess I have always been a photographer at heart.  All my life I've had an interest, studying the work of everything from family members to coffee table books.  Then in 1997 I bought a Minolta X-700, a manual Single Lens Reflex Camera.  I use 3 lenses, a 55mm, 28-70 telephoto, and a 80-210 telephoto.  I currently shoot on Royal Gold 200, although I shot 100 for a while.  I've also experimented with slides and black and white.

I live in Williams, Arizona.  Elevation 6800 feet, population 2,000.  Since 1998 I have been employed by Grand Canyon Railway as a Locomotive Hostler, taking care of the locomotives and shuffling equipment around the yards.

Good photography comes easily when the subject matter has been thouroughly researched both ahead of time and in the field.  GCR is my photographic playground.  Because it is so close, I can look for those special, unique opportunities and head out specifically for one particular shot.  Therefore, some of my best work is here.  Even if you don't share my fascination with trains, you are sure to find something here you can appreciate.
The Roaring Camp and Big Trees Railway in Felton, Ca. near Santa Cruz.  This RR recreates a logging operation of the 1930's, hauling passengers on narrow guage track through thick stands of old growth forest and Coastal Redwoods on a 2 hour round trip.  2 authentic steam powered logging locomotives power the trains.
One of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.  Only 64 miles away, I figure I have been here over 50 times by now for various reasons.  Not every visit has included photography, but several times a year I make the venture specifically to find those 'rare' shots.
Enroute to Winterrail in Stockton, Ca., Ervin and I stopped at the famed Tehachapi Pass.
In Jamestown, California is an operating RR museum called 'Railtown 1897'.  It's equipment tells the story of the Sierra Railway.

Dr. Michael Damien Ruane and Lisa Ann Davis are happy to announce their marriage on Sunday, June thirtieth Two thousand and two at the Historic Ivanson Mansion in Laramie, Wyoming.
Established in 1897, it was a major factor in the development of the Sierra foothills.  It's heritage has been preserved with the help of Hollywood, as the equipment has been used in many Movies and TV programs.
The 2001 Annual Convention of the National Railway Historical Society was held in St. Louis, Mo.  3 Mainline steam trips were operated using 2 locomotives.  5 days of Railfan Fun!

Confused about the title to this page?  It's a reference to a quote in a Babylon 5 episode.  Follow this link to the episode's synopsis.  The quote is near the bottom.
