My family and I live in Middletown, centrally
located under an hour from New York City and minutes from the Atlantic
Ocean. The setting couldn't be more perfect for a budding photographer
with its horse farms, historic homes, parks, and streams.
My first introduction to photography was in
a high school darkroom and later as an assistant to a professional
photographer. By necessity, my newfound "love" took a backseat to my main
life project - marriage and raising my three children. Today, with more
time on my hands and with the onset of digital, I have rediscovered my
passion after many years of point-and-shoot.
My constant search for knowledge led me to enroll
in The New York Institute of Photography in a home-study course. I
regularly participate in DP Challenge, a weekly, online
competition in Digital Photography, and I am constantly on the lookout for
ways to improve and highlight my skills.
In January, this year, I joined PSA and, in
August, entered my first exhibition and received an acceptance. I
currently use a Canon 300D, and an Olympus 740 UZ, with an Epson 2200
printer.
I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro, and Photoshop
Elements.
I am looking forward to the EID study group and
feedback from the prestigious and talented photographers involved.
