Nope, I'm afraid you don't get to listen to music here...that would be violation of copyright laws. Besides, you can either buy the CDs, have nice friends send them to you (hint hint to someone) or you can listen to a lot of them on the official Embrace site. And if you're really desperate, search the net...

This section is instead a personal view of the songs, short descriptions and such about them. I have decided not to add anything that Embrace have said about the songs in interviews as you can get that elsewhere (eg Mary's site). If you haven't figured it out, this section is primarily for the ones who haven't heard all the songs. BUT, you can still check it as I've added some tips on what you can do with the songs.

All the album track titles are written in purple so that you know and all the b-side titles are written in beige, or lightbrown or whatever you want to call it.

"If You've Never Been" songs and b-sides
Over
Duration: 7.02
Sounds like: The intro actually sounds like Santa's carriage's bells clinging closer and closer. Slow, easy, melodic...it has a dragging feel to it...like someone's carrying it all the time. Many instruments...quite a lovely flowing base sets in half way through the song.
Tip: In an airport before flying...it makes you ready.

Comment: One of the songs that was first played to audiences off IYNB. Apparently a song Danny had tried to master for a while.
I Hope You're Happy Now
Duration: 3.41
Sounds like: A lullaby, a powerful one that has an amazing smoothness as a result of several vocals on top of eachother. Absolutely beautiful...musically crowded, as many tracks on the album.
Tip: Listen to this while walking when you've achieved something great and feel proud of yourself!

Comment: Contains the intense line "You don't get lost in the dark when you shine", lots of beautiful lyrics in this.
Wonder
Duration: 4.24
Sounds like: Slow jamming acoustic feel that escalates to a soft anthem. Embrace have reached a place where they don't have to shout, they can talk.
Tip: This would probably do wonders outside when you're playing with snow.

Comment: First single off IYNB, it sparked both disappointment and 'wonder' (no pun intended...hehe).

Many Will Learn
Duration: 4.19
Sounds like: Lovely guitar sort of jogging its way into the vocals at the start. And then jogging along. Softest of the pedals of IYNB forrest. It makes you feel you're by a clear, crystal lake. Danny's voice does wonders on this I think.

Tip: Do this in darkness and concentrate on the lyrics and the song.

Comment: Don't you think this would've made a good album title too? Fall/autumn song, definitely.

It's Gonna Take Time
Duration: 4.38
Sounds like: Trumpets (and other horn instruments) starting sharply but easily. A swinging song, in a non-disco way. It goes up and down melodically. You can hear Richard singing loudly on the chorus.
Tip: Good for doing things such as writing things down, wrapping gifts to, tying shoelaces...you know...many things.

Comment: Together with 'Over' this was played during the 2000 tour. Quite popular it was at the time as well.
Hey, What You Trying To Say
Duration: 5.02
Sounds like: Rhythmic stroll by the road. The keyboard 'solo' bits at the end of the chorus are faboo. Some parts, like the middle-eight, it goes a bit melancholic.
Tip: Cool summer day walk out with light clothing on you that blows up when the wind gets inside it so you look like a ball and have and laugh...then it's nice hearing this.

Comment: For whatever reason, it's evident that Richard wrote the music, while Danny wrote the lyrics. I could be wrong. I doubt it.
If You've Never Been In Love With Anything
Duration: 4.47
Sounds like: A bullet start with jumping trumpets! Coming from the previous slow number it just hits you. It sounds a little 50-60s crime comedy, a little Beach Boys and a little I don't even know what. Quite insane, most remarkable number of the album.
Tip: Running away from someone would actually make the running fun! Or you can dance in a silly fashion with people you know.

Comment: Quite obviously, this is the title track...sort of.
Make It Last
Duration: 4.43
Sounds like: A bit like 'Wonder' actually, slow verses, anthemic chorus which isn't rough to be precise, but uplifting. The 'Oooo oo ooo' background 'vocals' behind the chorus is great!
Tip: When you need to cheer yourself up. When you need to take things less hard...someone I think it would help.

Comment: The video of this song starred some 'real life' Embrace fans, 4 of them, who got to be scared before realizing what was going on.
Happiness Will Get You In The End
Duration: 2.47
Sounds like: Danny's voice and a guitar. Veeery slow, a tad repetitive in its structure. There's a keyboard/piano in the background.
Tip: I am thinking this would be good to stress down...but Embrace have better songs that fill the same purpose.

Comment: My new
Satellites
Duration: 6.27
Sounds like: Really calm, solemn, loving, relaxed song that takes its time. It's not rushed. It's like drops of vocals falling into a pond of instruments. Sublime.
Tip: I'm gonna go for the predicable one, outdoors, at night, sea of stars above you.

Comment: It may be hard for you to believe it but this song is written by Richard...imagine if he'd sung it as well, it would've been a classic a la "The Way I Do" but better!
Anywhere You Go
Duration: 5.07
Sounds like: Sunset on a Hawaiian bar/saloon. It's a soft vocal thingie with keyboard going in the back. It really is sunset on Hawaii, that's all I can say. At the end there's a cool keyboard solo.
Tip:
At the end of a trip when you're about to go home, listen to this.
Comment: '...always take the weather with you..' sorry, it was irresistible.
Everyday
Duration: 4.16
Sounds like: An upbeat version of "Today", it flows...
Tip: Listen to it if you're an Embrace fan and want to have heard all of Embrace's songs.

Comment: Yes, Danny's voice is weird on it, not your ears fooling you, he's sung it when he'd caught a cold! It's a bit cool in a strange way.
Today
Duration: 3.02
Sounds like:Your normal rock/pop song, easy going guitar etc etc.
Tip: It's a good song to listen to while playing with swings and such fun activities.

Comment: Quite an old song Embrace played on a radio appearance in Sweden in 2000, used to sound much worse, the band gave it a good shake.
Caught In A Rush
Duration: 3.47
Sounds like: First it opens with what sounds like a church organ, then we're introduced to a slow verse, followed by a rough instrumentally crowded and different sounding chorus.
Tip: Good when you're playing cowboys and other stupid cowboys (for the politically correct kids!).

Comment: Probably the most different and consistent favorite B-side off IYNB.
Giving Forgiving And Giving In
Duration: 4.10
Sounds like: Bam trumpet opening, it used to be a real ballad song until it was worked into an up-tempo song. It's perhaps not the band's moment in the sun but it rrrocks anyway.
Tip: Good for dancing I bet, though I'd never.

Comment: This song was originally meant to be on IYNB and it was meant to be the title track, as far as Danny was concerned anyway.
What You've Never Had You'll Never Have
Duration: 2.40
Sounds like: 'Normal' song, mid-tempo, quite boring verses but the chorus is alright.
Tip: I think it would work well when you're practicing cartwheels (and I know how everyone does ;o)

Comment: One of THE longest song title Embrace have ever managed, and they manage quite a few.
Fight Yer Corner
Duration: 4.14
Sounds like: Good guitar solo start accompanying Danny's voice. Then follows drums or whatever it is 'wah wuah' sounds...really nice. It reminds you a little of the older slow numbers like "I've Been Running" in its instruments and vibe.
Tip: If you're having a night miniparty in the forrest here's a good choice...though, mix it with other songs!

Comment: Think the 'Yer' sounds a bit like Richard's accent/phonetic. I don't really know the purpose though.
It's You I Make It For
Duration: 4.02
Sounds like: Camp fire acoustic guitar proceeding Bongos and Danny's dragging slow vocals. Band playing acoustic at a beach thing.
Tip: I've never heard it but I think it'd sound better live, at a beach at night maybe,

Comment: The title may fool you to think it's a dedication to fans, but it isn't. Nice title.
"Drawn From Memory" songs and b-sides
The Love It Takes
Duration: 3.31
Sounds like: Beautiful beautiful starry-night-out-in-the-deserts song that suddenly develops into a rock number
Tip: However you listen to it, do it with headphones...the voice and the line 'Iiiii wouoohooold giihiiive everything...' needs to be close to you

Comment: In an amazing way, this song makes you feel sad and yet happy
You're Not Alone
Duration: 4.29
Sounds like: Upbeat yet sensitive song that makes you feel better...a cross between 'The Love It Takes' and 'Wake Up!' by the Bood Radleys (well, the intro and the chorus has that same trumpet thingie going)
Tip: When you're feeling down...hear Danny tell you you're not alone =0)

Comment: Apparently there is a Thailand released acoustic version of this that's supposed to be really good. Written by Richard.
Save Me
Duration: 4.46
Sounds like: A lovely soulguitar and bongos intro, leading to a chilled verse and then an explosive chorus
Tip: After you finished doing something you didn't like but had to do, put this on and feel faboo

Comment: People who aren't into Embrace tend to find this appealing. It's the most remixed song of Embrace
Drawn From Memory
Duration: 7.00
Sounds like: Imagine 'Fireworks' but better instruments, better voice, better melody...better everything...this is a classic
Tip: This really really loud while you're in an air-balloon should be the best ever...seeing the world from above and hearing this...mmmm...

Comment: It doesn't take a genius to realize (or speculate) that Mickey has had a great part in this song sounding the way it does
Bunker Song
Duration: 1.48
Sounds like: A grand get together between strings and guitars...war of the waters or something
Tip: Standing outside when it's really windy and hearing this is fantastic

Comment: This was initially a guitar riff from 'Save Me' that developed into an instrumental on its own
New Adam New Eve
Duration: 3.47
Sounds like: Rocky and yet funky angry song...if there ever was a bitter feel in a voice, this is it
Tip: Listen to this when someone's been unfair or mean to you and at least dream of telling them off heavily (better if you actually do it too)

Comment: One of few angry and loud songs that Danny sings
Hooligan
Duration: 4.13
Sounds like: Everything and yet nothing! The most different sounding Embrace track...guitars, kazoos, keyboard 'plings', this is euphoria in a calm sort of way
Tip: On a breezy summer day you open your window, let your curtain down a bit, lay down or sit back and turn this high high up

Comment: Richard does a really good job on the singing and pronounces the words really funky
Yeah You
Duration: 3.38
Sounds like: Heavy and hard track but still sort of melodic in the verses
Tip: For some reason this song feels befitting when the air-plane is landing...maybe the metaphor for coming down and seeking revenge? Who knows

Comment: Embrace's record company wanted them to change 'shit' to 'stick' in the song to be able to release it as a single, Embrace refused...good, no compromises in music
Liars' Tears
Duration: 3.16
Sounds like: Slow, non-peaking sort of song that floats along
Tip: Listen to this live, especially if it's outside and it's slightly breezy...it's better live and the mood is better outside

Comment: It takes a special state of feeling to listen to this I think
I Wouldn't Wanna Happen To You
Duration: 3.50
Sounds like: A cheery middle tempo spring/summer song. The keyboard (or whatever it is) in the background sets a beautiful tone and Danny's voice is marvelous on this
Tip: You're in a big empty green field that stretches into eternity, then make sure this is on and run around like a madster

Comment: The single version of this one was a bit changed so it sounded more summery. The lyrics are lovely
I Had A Time
Duration: 5.47
Sounds like: One of those really slow songs that gives you a 'good-bye' feeling...don't know how to explain but some songs sound like farewells
Tip: View of the ocean, sunset, semi-heavy winds and the line '...I won't see your smiling face, but I won't see your smiling fade...'

Comment: A song I think a lot of people can relate to and not just in their lovelife. Basically about how it may sometime be safer not digging too deep
The First Cut
Duration: 3.32
Sounds like: Rythmic poprock song with Danny's voice going low
Tip: This is really good to have in the background when you're doing boring things like designing the arrangement in a newspaper (not stylish magazine, newspaper)

Comment: 'The First Cut Is The Deepest' is a Cat Stevens song that has been covered many times
Three Is A Magic Number
Duration: 3.17
Sounds like: Happy, bubbly, sweet and jumpy weirdo track about why 3 is so special
Tip: If you're really happy, eat some ice-cream and listen to this, move your head to the drums and have fun!

Comment: This is Embrace's only recorded cover version. The original was written and performed by Bobby Dorough but other cover versions of the same song are better known
I've Been Running
Duration: 5.52
Sounds like: Strong yet frail sound, a 'slow-song' where the guitar and the piano walk into eachother's territories, mixing beautifully
Tip: If you've been away somewhere and you're coming home after a while it's nice to have this on on your walkman cos this feels like having gone through something hard

Comment: Embrace 'dedicated' this one to Lindford Christie at SG#4
Brothers And Sisters
Duration: 3.29
Sounds like: Rock song that basically rocks =0) Unlike their older songs that were rocky this one does not sound similar to Oasis
Tip: Listen to this when bungy jumping or when rollerblading

Comment: Coldplay also have a song called 'Brothers And Sisters', ah, well...if you're gonna copy, why not copy the best?
Still So Young
Duration: 4.05
Sounds like: It starts out really mellow and then it gets louder, but not in a rocky way, it's an organ or clarinet or a flute(don't ask me, not an expert) that makes a screaming sound...okay, screaming is exaggeration
Tip: When you're surfing the net this is good to have on cos it slows down all the stress

Comment: Mike Heaton has written 'Still So Young' but I still think it has an Embrace sound to it
Like A Believer
Duration: 5.32
Sounds like: The opening is fantastic, a soul elevating intro...well, at least that's how it is for me..it's a short intro but it's great. The rest is great too, lower verses contrasting the higher sounds on the chorus
Tip: Look through old photos, or even new beautiful photos when listening to this, you get a good feeling inside

Comment: -
Happy And Lost
Duration: 2.12
Sounds like: Acoustic guitar and Danny, by a campfire, perfect nightsky full of stars and a calm winds
Tip: It's better to listen to this one by yourself...it's a bit sentimental and that works best in private

Comment: '...I'm such a luuucky ...fooohoooohooool...' aaaawww
Get On Board
Duration: 3.30
Sounds like: It actually sounds like the title. Happy, telling you to get on board...hang on to your laugh, don't let it fade too fast. It's quite amazing how well the melody suits the lyrics
Tip: No need to try and be creative with this, just listen to it when the world is trying to bring you down

Comment: Richard sings this one and I'm pretty sure he wrote it too since it sounds like a typical Richard song
Come On And Smile
Duration: 4.07
Sounds like: If you would write a popsong that at the same time sounded like a typical Embrace ballad, it might sound something like this
Tip: When you feel extremely content despite a few problems in life, this might increase that feeling, so you can listen to it

Comment: Sometimes you actually start smiling when he sings '..come on and smile...'
Top Of The Heap
Duration: 3.49
Sounds like: Sweet little tune, makes you happy and yet it's a bit sad...not that I can explain why...top song
Tip: After you've climbed Mount Everest or something like that, it's nice to put this on and feel proud (no, it's not about mountain climbing)

Comment: '...so I sing myself to sleep..' is part of the lyrics, John Lennon used to sing himself to sleep when he was little
I Can't Feel Bad Anymore
Duration: 4.31
Sounds like: The last song you'll listen to in life maybe. This has one of those end of the road feelings attached to it. Not that it is like "The Long And Winding Road" but it reminds me of that song
Tip: When you're finished reading a really good book, put this on and enjoy, mix your thoughts about the book with the melody

Comment: 'You've taken everything that you want from me, I won't fight...' I just love that, had to put it 'on print'
A Tap On Your Shoulder
Duration: 2.32
Sounds like: Singing through a big microphone (Richard). It sounds a bit 'empty-American-road-in-a-film'...cool and simple
Tip: Nice to have on when you're riding a bike beside a highway, the bike going through long grass

Comment: -
With The One Who Got Me Here
Duration: 4.00
Sounds like: This has a sort of hanging sound...like the song and the voice is hanging down from something, it's very slow
Tip: When this is the one of very few Embrace songs you have access to, listen to this one

Comment: I'll be honest and say I'm not really a fan of this song. I can go as far as saying that this is probably the only Embrace song that I can cut anytime without feeling any loss
I Know What's Going On
Duration: 2.37
Sounds like: An up-tempo song that would probably get anybody going...Danny proving that his voice isn't only striking on the emotional ballads. The rhythmic clapping in the background of the chorus illustrates the mood of the song
Tip: Coming home from school or work or anything that is the equivalent and sitting down to listen to this is quite an experience

Comment: This is one of only two Embrace songs with the word 'baby' in them, the other is 'The Way I Do'

"The Good Will Out" songs and b-sides
All You Good Good People
Duration: 6.06
Sounds like: 'Anthemic' sing along song, it's basically quintessentially Embrace, if such thing exists...well, old Embrace anyway
Tip: Listen to it when you're happy...it gets you up and even happier than before

Comment: Possibly the most famous Embrace song
My Weakness Is None Of Your Business
Duration: 3.17
Sounds like: Soft and tender in the verses, big and emotional chorus
Tip: Try and hint something to someone by putting this on when you feel the title is applicable

Comment: The title is very Embrace in the way that it's very long
Come Back To What You Know
Duration: 4.10
Sounds like: Danny's voice is fantastic on this one...it's what got me into Embrace...sort of catchy
Tip: Listen carefully to the start when Danny starts to sing and it's quite silent except for his voice

Comment: -
One Big Family
Duration: 4.05
Sounds like: Loud...and it does have an Oasis-esque sound
Tip: Have it on when you're working with the computer, it makes things go faster

Comment: One of Embrace's earliest releases and how appropriate for a band containing brothers to have 'family song'
Higher Sights
Duration: 3.44
Sounds like: Embrace really...nobody else sounds like this. Kind of a slow song that speeds up in the chorus...the guitar sounds really good on this one
Tip: Listen to this while looking at the waves in the sea..it goes very well with the guitar and the 'airy' drums on the song

Comment: -
Retread
Duration: 3.39
Sounds like: Soft and melancholic track about insecurities among other things
Tip: When you're sad, this helps you even though it's pretty tragic

Comment: Retread is a tire made by putting a new rubber surface onto an old worn tire (it's evidently a metaphor in the song)
I Want The World
Duration: 5.44
Sounds like: A cross between a rock song and a pop song, the basic melody is kind of poppy but guitars, drums etc make this sound harder
Tip: Would probably do wonders at a football stadium

Comment: Like most 'hard' songs by Embrace Richard is the leadvocalist
You've Got To Say Yes
Duration: 3.42
Sounds like: A 'common' song as the title would suggest. The intro is just superb...also a rocky track
Tip: In the morning, just when you wake up you'll find this song kicking and energetic

Comment: Although the melody wouldn't imply it it's actually about tragic situations (drugs etc)
Fireworks
Duration: 3.58
Sounds like: One of the sweetest and saddest things you'll ever hear...strings, piano, hurt voice
Tip: The humming that starts the song is heartwrenching in a warm sort of way, listen carefully

Comment: -
The Last Gas
Duration: 3.45
Sounds like: Loud, crazy cool song that sounds a bit like Oasis...but it's better than most Oasis songs
Tip: Try jumping up and down to this one when you're by yourself...it's so much fun

Comment: Who doesn't love when the singing starts with 'It's the waaay I feeeeeeeel...it's the way I feeeeeeeeeel...'?
That's All Changed Forever
Duration: 4.13
Sounds like: A piano ballad that has an 'I'm finally free' feeling to it...that's the feeling you get when you hear it
Tip: After a shower when you're all clean, lie down on your bed or somewhere and listen to this..heaven

Comment: I've read this is a lovesong...which I don't quite get, to me it sounds like an 'it's over' song
Now You're Nobody
Duration: 4.23
Sounds like: Same airy drums and guitar feel as 'Higher Sights' but it sounds much more calm than that song
Tip: I feel this would fit perfect at a graduation...not that anybody let me play this at mine

Comment: -
The Good Will Out
Duration: 7.00
Sounds like: Epic...forceful...solemn...happy
Tip: Listen to it when you're walking around in big crowds...it's just a song that suits crowds

Comment: Title track of the first album and a possible Embrace catch phrase...yes, the good will come out! It almost always finishes Embrace gigs
Blind
Duration: 4.18
Sounds like: Another Oasis sounding poprock song...don't how this is different from many of their old 'hard' songs but it's still really good
Tip: If you're making pizza this is good to have on when you're making the dough

Comment: The waabbppaa-bpa-bpa-bpa singing in the beginning of the song is cool =0)
Dry Kids
Duration: 2.47
Sounds like: A piano ballad that has developed further on its way to a faster song...Danny's voice very stripped on it
Tip: Sitting on cliffs on a summer evening and hearing this should be quite an experience

Comment: A lot of fans have this as a favorite or a favorite b-side
Butter Wouldn't Melt
Duration: 3.27
Sounds like: Yep...again, a slowy piano track. The high octave piano sounds in the end are really sweet...like the ones in 'Now You're Nobody'
Tip: This on a TV report when Lazio lose some game...hahaha...*evil laughter* (the players don't have to cry though, it'd be too cruel)

Comment: -
Feelings I Thought You Shared
Duration: 3.26
Sounds like: Somewhat similar to 'My Weakness Is None Of Your Business' but happier...nice trumpets close to the end
Tip: This really works infront of the computer, though I couldn't specify why

Comment: -
Love Is Back
Duration: 3.53
Sounds like: Very beautiful, heartwrenching but somehow hopeful story. A quality that many Embrace songs have, hopeful and despairful at the same time (the sound, not lyrics)
Tip: Standing on a balcony or top of the Eiffel tower, feeling really well and then you hear this...perfection

Comment: The aaaahhhhaaa... hhhhmmmm ...oooooohooooo parts are lovely
You've Only Got To Stop To Get Better
Duration: 4.49
Sounds like: Again...I don't want to make this an Oasis or Embrace thing, but to me this also sounds something Oasis could've written
Tip:Works well when you're doing a graphic design project at school/college/university

Comment: -
You Don't Amount To Anything This Time
Duration: 2.58
Sounds like: A sad person pouting ...hehehe...seriously, this is the musical equivalent of a person who's basically lost everything and goes to church to talk to someone
Tip: Make sure you don't have this on if you feel like you've hit rock bottom, I can imagine how a few tears can turn into a flood while listening to this

Comment: -
If You Feel Like A Sinner
Duration: 2.55
Sounds like: Naked piano playing accompanied by Danny's voice strongly going through the song
Tip: Sit and drink tea or coco or coffee...or something else that's weird and hot and listen to this

Comment: My friend saw this title together with other songs like 'Save Me', 'Like A Believe', 'Brothers And Sisters' and seriously asked 'are they a religious band?'...hehehe
The Way I Do
Duration: 4.24
Sounds like: Late John Lennon, something between 'Jealous Guy' and 'Imagine', first time I heard it I was pretty shocked because Embrace aren't predominantly Beatles/Lennon influenced (if at all). Since I grew up hearing the Beatles a lot and listened to Embrace as I got older, I get extremely emotional when I hear it because it makes me feel 12 and yet 19 at the same time
Tip: Listen to it anywhere, anyhow...good place is the train but really, lovely anywhere...Richard's voice, the piano...all of it

Comment: I have nagged a lot about this song, on the board, on LastGas (even when Danny was in)...hehehe
Free Ride
Duration: 2.34
Sounds like: Another one of those 'good-bye' or ending songs. One in a line of soft songs, piano and Danny working it, but like all the others, special on its own
Tip: Light candles, make sure you're alone, turn off all the electric lights and listen to it while concentrating on the flames

Comment: -
Don't Turn Your Back On Love
Duration: 3.30
Sounds like: Middle tempo, kind of monotonous, in a good and consistent way. Sounds very Embrace
Tip: Eating candy and walking down a half empty street and listening to this...feels nice

Comment: Just as the title would suggest so, this is a celebration of love
Perfect Way
Duration: 3.02
Sounds like: Similar to many old Embrace b-sides, slow pace and emotional. The way the guitar is used it sort of sounds like Greek protest songs
Tip: That protest song feel also fits this for a demonstration, although, how often does anybody go to a protest march?
