Standard of Perfection says that an English Lop should have a body style that looks like a Mandolin. Here are a few different pictures of Mandolins.
I can just imagine ears on this one!

More Ear Info I'd like to thank Danielle at Lotsa Lops for digging up this info for us from the 1996 Lop Rabbit Guide Book. Ross Malloy has been a member of the club for at least 10 years. He first appears on the winner's list in 1986. He is less active on the show circut today, but for many years he was the one to beat in the West. "...I have measured ears at 6 weeks of age and measured again every 2 weeks until 16 weeks of age. I have found the following growth rates are the average that can be expected for each 2 week period. I am not stating that every rabbit will attain these growth rates. Some will grow slightly more, some less of course. But on the average this is what can be expected: 6-8 weeks 2 1/2"; 8-10 weeks 1 1/2"; 10-12 weeks 1"; 12-14 weeks 1/2"; 14-16 weeks 1/2"; 10 week total of 6 inches. If the rabbits are measured at the age of six weeks, on average, you can expect the following ear length when the rabbit becomes senior: |
Expected Senior Length 21" 22" 23" 24" 25" |
Length at 6 weeks 15" 16" 17" 18" 19" |
And so on." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
