Lawn Renovation
line
Major lawn renovations can be done in the spring, however, special care MUST be given to your newly seeded area THROUGH OUT the growing season. Late summer to early fall is the best time to totally renovate a lawn. The work can include as much as top dressing your existing lawn with a layer of new loam, applying lime and fertilizer, seeding, and applying a protective layer of straw mulch, to as little as one of several over seeding methods.

No matter what method is ultimately chosen, it is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that you faithfully and diligently, properly water and properly mow the new grass. If the previous sentence seems to over state the case, in fact it does not. Too many people spend big money on a Spring renovation and then don’t follow through with the watering and proper mowing and then when the hot dry summer hits, they get upset when their grass dies. If you do follow through, the results can be quite satisfying.
