Note #1: Libya and its current vassal, Eritrea, have been excluded from the Congo peace deal. These two countries had previously declared that they were sending troops to Congo to monitor a Gadhafi-sponsored scheme. Meanwhile the OAU is being widely congratulated for its determined work in achieving peace deals in Congo and Sierra Leone. By contrast, Eritrea yesterday issued a press release that savages the OAU essentially because it refuses to endorse Eritrea’s forcible occupation of Ethiopian territory. The world knows that the intractable problem at the heart of the Ethiopia-Eritrea conflict lies with the character of the Eritrean leadership, and not with the OAU mediators.
Note #2: To understand the mental status of Gadhafi, stay tuned for a short story written by him and published in 1998: The Suicide of the Astronaut
