7-11-01: X-Box to go pocket???? |

Very exciting, though highly unlikely, rumors have been e-mailed to me regarding an X-Box Pocket Colour. Which, apparently, is a hand held console which can run X-Box games, with X-Box quality graphics, on a screen no larger than that of the GBA's. The games will be put onto the device using a link cable which will hook it into the main X-Box console. If this rumor is true, then it will surely declare the X-Box as the greatest console of all time, but I fell Microsoft would have publicised this. Since they havn't, I think that this rumor is nothing more than wishful thinking. But heres hoping the rumors come true.... Laters, BlackDawn2K1 |

7-11-01: 'X-Box Only' Internet?? |

As the release date draws nearer (only a week to go at the time of writing) people have begun to discuss the X-Box's internet access. We all know it will not be Dial-Up (ala Dreamcast) but will be an always on Broadband connection. But questions were raised about whether this could leave the X-Box exposed and open to hackers. We will be doing a featire on this point, but the rumors are as follows. The X-Box will not use the internet the way a PC does. It will instead use an 'X-Box Only' version of the internet. Ie. A large WAN (Wide Area Network) that is dedicated to X-Box gamers. This would begood because it would stop hackers. But would it also prevent access to websites which could provide X-Box downloads such as game saves? Only time will tell. Laters, BlackDawn2K1 |

In an unexpected turn of events, developer 3DO have said that they will NOT be developing any games for the X-Box. This is because certain members of staff are claimed to have "very little respect for the X-Box". 24-10-01: A Peculiar E-Mail Causes Confusion Throughout Exodus X-Box |

Imagine, if you will, a scene. Sat infront of the soft glow of my PC monitor, typing out my latest preview, keeping the site running smoothly, doing my daily check of links to make sure they all work, scanning the search engines for the very latest X-Box news when all of a sudden. "YOU HAVE E-MAIL". Annoyed over this interuption I open the mail to find an e-mail entitled Cannon Fodder X. Intrigued I read it. What did it say? Well, not to put too finer point on it, it claimed that the classic Amiga 500 game, Cannon Fodder is on its way to X-Box in a 3D stylee. Now, I was a big fan of this game when it was originally released many years back, so I immediatly started to search the net. The results of my 3 and a half hour trawl? Four emulator sites and a picture of a guy holding a gun. No trace of 'Cannon Fodder X' newhere. Even when checking the official release lists of X-Box.com revealed no game like this. So, this mail will be filed under 'BIZZARE' for now until an explanation comes to light. If you can spread any light over this, then PLEASE contact me. Yes, Exodus X-Box is looking for new writers after two of our unofficial writers who help with finding screenshots and info have moved on to pastures new. Goodbye guys, thanks for your help :). But, their departure leaves three positions open to writers! So, if you enjoy video games and would like to write previews, reviews and features for Exodus X-Box, then please e-mail me (you can find the address in the contact section). With your e-mail please include your full name, e-mail address, what gaming experience you have (how long have you been playing games, what consoles have you owned etc.) and please include an original article that you have written yourself in TXT or RTF format. The article can be a preview of a new X-Box release, a feature about the technology used in X-Box or what effect you think the X-Box will have on the games industry. Anything as long as its X-Box related. If you are a successful applicant then you will recieve notice via e-mail with details on how to submit your future articles. 22-10-01: TOP STORY - Sad news for X-Box fans in the United Kingdom. |

News of delays on the U.K release of the X-Box have begun to filter through. According to unconfirmed rumors, the X-Box's release date will slip from November 14th 2001 to March 14th 2002. Some game shops claim that Microsoft will be releasing a "small batch of consoles" before Christmas to "test the water". This, again is unconfirmed. More unconfirmed rumors have emerged. These are as follows, 1)Microsoft not providing any kind of pre-order service and 2)Microsoft only selling the X-Box in 'bundles' which will cost 400 to 500 pounds. These last two rumors are more than likely false, but it would seem the news about the X-Box being delayed until next year are very true. Don't worry though, we at the U.K based Exodus X-Box will endeavour to bring you all the very latest reviews. Even if it means we will have to splash out on an imported console. --UPDATE!-- Just as I was finishing this report, i recieved a phone call from my friend who was researching the rumored release dates of the X-Box in the U.K, and it would seem that rumors suggest the release schedule is as such.... The US will recieve the X-Box on November 14th 2001. Next on the list is Japan, they will get the X-Box at some time in January/Febuary. And last [as usual] the United Kingdom will receive the X-Box many months after the original US release, on March 14th 2002. News of two top games heading to the X-Box. The first of these games is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2X by Neversoft. The unstopable series grinds its way onto the X-Box. With all the tracks from the previous games and some new exclusive X-Box tracks, this game is gonna keep fans of the series happy for months on end. Featuring skating legend, Tony Hawk as well as others, you will have a wide selection of characters to choose from. This game is gonna really rock, keep it locked here as I am writing a full preview on the game as we speak. The second game is Hunter. Details are very sketch right now, but it is said that this game is the goriest yet seen on any console, EVER. Wow. Yes, as of earlier this very day, I have taken over as Webmaster of Exodus X-Box, which i am very pleased about! I have big plans for this site, even if I will have to polsih up my HTML skills if I wish to keep everything updated. But it is a challenge I am willing to undertake. Midway just announced the list of games they will be making for
the Xbox and I must say it looks promising:

- RedCard Soccer
- Gravity Games: BMX
- MLB Slugfest
- Spy Hunter
- Arctic Thunder

And we will also be getting Mortal Kombat 5. So another
promising fighter for the Xbox. All of these games will be
released but Arctic thunder and the 2002 versions of Hitz and

JoWooD released some new info about their rally game for the
Xbox: Rally Trophy. It is not going to be like Colin Mc Rae but
more focused on arcade. Also the cars will be a little bit
different from what you're used to in rally games, you will be
able to race in eleven classic models like the mini cooper and
the Lancia stratos |

Midway is coming with a basketball game to the Xbox. But it's
not going to be a regular kind of basketball cause it will be
focused on one-on-one and street basketball. It's name will be
NBA Ballers and you can expect it somewhere mid 2002. |

coming to the Xbox cause Microsoft and Square are negotiating
for a year now. but no deal has been made yet. FF is certainly
not coming to the Gamecube. Square loves the Gamecube but
Yamauchi hates Square. |

thinks to have sold between 4,5 and 6 million consoles before
