Dear Friend,

We are inviting you to join the Filipino American National Historical Society, Stockton Chapter. Our organization is a 501c3 non-profit agency with 28 recognized chapters throughout the United States. Its National headquarters and archives have been in existence for 26 years, founded in Seattle, Washington, in 1982. Our Stockton Chapter of FANHS was founded in 1992.

Our mission statement is to promote understanding, education, enlightenment, and enrichment through the identification, gathering, preservation and dissemination of the history and culture of Filipino Americans in the United States. The Stockton Chapter focuses on the Filipino American history of Stockton and its surrounding area.

Our recent accomplishments include the making of the PBS KVIE 2007 documentary, "Filipinos in California’s Heartland" and more recently, in collaboration with the Little Manila Foundation, "Filipinos in Stockton" a book put together by Arcadia Publishing. We have on-going exhibits of Filipino American historical displays throughout the area libraries and at local events. Our chapter members take part in Filipino American historical panel presentations and lectures at colleges and universities. We also present our personal Filipino American experiences in the Stockton area to visiting students of all ages.

Our chapter is well known and we hope that this information will encourage you and others to join us in preserving our/your Filipino American history and heritage, not only in our area but everywhere in the United States.

Sincerely,

Anita F (Navalta) Bautista, President
