Weapons & Armor |
Baybun the Bearserker longs to be able to use vile weapons such as laser cannons or guns again, believing as he does that he was once an evil space mercenary before being reincarnated into the form of a teddy bear as punishment for his sins.He wishes such armament because he is a bully, and believes himself unable to fight without them. Legionnaires shall never use any form of artillery or projectile weaponry. Such is indeed difficult, if not impossible, using a ted's paws, so it is wasteful of time and energy to desire them. The weapons of a Legionnaire are weapons of skill and grace. Since we wish only to incapacitate our foes, not annihiliate them, it is encouraged that Legionnaires learn fighting skills that require little or no weaponry. Fisticuffs, Wrestling and various forms of Martial Arts are all fine examples of this ideal. Weapons such as quarterstaves, clubs and numchucks are acceptible, so long as the Legionnaire using them possesses sufficient skill and care to avoid severely damaging his or her adversary. Bladed weapons such as swords and spears are allowed with even more stringent caution regarding the skill of the user, as ted paws do not handle them easily. Catapults and slings are regarded as projectile weapons and forbidden. Armor is not required if a Legionnaire feels that it impedes his or her fighting style. A Ninja-Ted, for instance, would be encumbered by steel plate. Our enemy cannot use the heavy weapons he desires and lacks the skill and wit to use other kinds, so heavy armor is not vital. Therefore it would be more a matter of style as to whether a ted burdened himself with chain mail or helmets. A Recreationist Bear is quite welcome to accurately depict the armor or uniform of any army from any culture or era he or she pleases, or to dress purely for fashion if no need for protection is felt. Simply remember that when On Duty, a Legionnaire must Be Prepared. Return to HQ |
