March 26, 2004

I am usually on time, but this time, it is late by a week. We were excited
as well as nervous. We went to the Women’s Health Center attached to the
Kaiser Permanente Hospital and I took the pregnancy test.
The test turned out positive and the nurse congratulated me. I came out
and informed Sathish about this and our joy knew no bounds. We thanked God
and after lottttttttttttttttttttts of paper work, the nurse made an
appointment for me with Ms. Jacqueline Rice (affectionately called Jackie),
a Certified Nurse Midwife at Kaiser Permanente in West LA, for Apl 5 ‘04.
Then I went to the lab for numerous blood and urine tests.

Jackie was the one that delivered my first baby and she is excellent.
We were eager to see her soon. I was more nervous than delighted,
that we should be able to see the baby’s heart beat during the first
visit itself, unlike during my first pregnancy. We decided to present
this news to our parents after my first pre-natal visit.
