Anirudh had fever last night and he has been coughing all the time. So, I made
an appointment to see his pediatrician on Nov 3 ‘04 at 9:30 a.m.

Anirudh’s appointment with his pediatrician was at 9:30 a.m. We checked in and were
waiting for Dr. Kesler. My appointment with Dr. Lurvey was at 10:30 a.m. Since time
was running out and Dr. Kesler was still attending to some other patient, I left
leaving Anirudh with Sathish and my mom. Dr. Kesler came after that and mentioned
that Anirudh was having some viral infection. He mentioned that it would go away
in a couple of days and told us not to worry about the same.

Meanwhile, I had checked in and was waiting for Dr. Lurvey. Anirudh, Sathish and my
mom joined me a little later. Dr. Lurvey welcomed the grand mother and told us that
he would show the baby to the grand mother. So, he did an ultrasound to show my mom
her grand child. At the end of the scan, Dr. Lurvey said that everything looks quite
normal and that the baby’s lungs have also matured. He just asked us to keep hanging
          in there!!!

I had a couple of questions, which Dr. Lurvey answered patiently.

My next appointment is on Nov 11 ’04 at 9:10 a.m. with Dr. Lurvey.

Today morning we went for a Maternity Tour at the Kaiser Hospital. They took us
around the Labor and Delivery unit and showed and explained various things to us.
There were lots of expectant moms in the tour. It was nice.

In the evening, we went for a Diwali Party. Diwali is a major Hindu festival, which
symbolizes the victory of good over evil. It usually occurs in October/November,
and is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited festivals in India. This time it
          falls on Nov 11 2004.

It is customary in the US to have a party before or after or sometimes (rarely) on
the day of Diwali, where all friends meet and greet each other.

We just got back from the party. Had a very nice time there. It is my father-in-law’s
birthday too (Nov 7 in India). We called him just a few minutes back to wish him
on his birthday. It is almost mid-night now. It has been a very long day for us.

Tomorrow we are planning on buying some essential items for the baby like diapers,
          wipes, etc etc.
