6-6-01: So far, I have discovered that the new cd is due in August and will be called "The Amalgamut." Why? Richard Patrick says this: "I called the record [A]malgamut because I took a trip across the country and started to realize that everything in America could potentially become on big homogenized piece of shit....It's in a way an amalgamation or a mutt. I think there should be way more focus on abstract thought and individualism as opposed to everybody trying to be the same..." (Courtesy of www.officialfilter.com) I also discovered in my searching the titles of six songs that will be on the upcoming record. These were written by them as a group. It has been said that the remaining five or six, bringing the albums total to twelve, will be created by Patrick alone. Here are the six known titles" 1. "It Can Never Be the Same" 2. "My Long Walk to Jail" 3. "So I Quit" 4. "It Will Always Remain in my Head" 5. "Goddamn Me" 6. "I Like the World Today" Check back often for more updates! Bye! 6-7-01: Grand opening of my site. I'm emailing links to my site to other Filter sites in hope it might get some publicity. All I can do is hope. Bye the way, if you have any pics, somthing to say, etc. in reference to Filter, email me! Any feedback is better then no feedback at all! If its good, Ill post it. Adios for now! 6-8-01: Not big news, but still it's something new. I read on another site, that the planned name for the new album was originally going to be "It Can Never Be the Same". However, now, if you don't already know, it will be called "The Amalgamut". Adios! 6-9-01: I added more to my bios section; a LOT more. So check it out. It now has facts, b-days, and bios on former members. Enjoy! 6-12-01: Good news...at least for me! www.officialfilter.com, the official site for Filter, hence the name, has emailed me back, complimenting my site and saying they would like to include me in their links. This is the kind of publicity I need. Adios for now! 6-20-00: I have read that of the eleven to twelve tracks that are going to be on The Amalgamut, ten are done. Looks like they will make the August deadline. Listen for the first single off the new cd, and no, I don't know what song to listen for. Adios! 6-22-01: I added a link to the radio station I made, FilterFanatic. It has Filter plus many of my other favorite bands. So check it out while you're playing Doom or whatever you like doing, but caution: slow modems could cause suicidal thoughts so you probably want a 56K connection or better to listen. Adios. 7-2-01: Sorry I was gone for a while. My internet died and it could again at any time. Sadly though, theres nothing to update. However, August it on its way so everyone start thinking about putting aside some of your paycheck (or christmas money from Granny) for the new cd. 8-13-01: Well, they've done it once more. The cd has been pushed out again, they don't even know when its going to be released now; they are still recording. But hang in there and keep your hopes up that it will be released some time this year. Also, my internet is fixed, for now, so I should be updating more. Adios! 9-6-01: As of now, the release date has been set for March 2002. By now, you must know this can change at any time. However, being set seven months away from the August release date, let's hope that gives Rich and the guys enough time to finish. After all, "haste makes waste." See ya! 9-7-01: Today, I added some music videos of Filter. Since I have no video to PC copying capabilities, I simply have a link from my page to the video at "Launch.com". To see them, click on the "Music Video" link to the left, choose a song and it will automatically start playing after you get to the "Launch.com" site. Enjoy! 10-3-01: Hello again! Finally, there is more news on the home front. Reports are now coming in from Richard about three more songs he has writen: "Don't Give an Inch", "The American Cliche" and "The Missing". While "Don't..." is like a cross between "Stuck in Here"/"Take a Picture", "The American Cliche" is about commonplace school violence. BTW, "The Missing" was writen before Sept. 11, 2001. Adios! (PS: Thanks to www.officialfilter.com for the new song info!) 10-16-01: Realizing that there were songs done in between Shortbus and Title of Record, I added the lyrics of the four Filter songs recorded for soundtracks to the "Lyrics" section. Also, in case you haven't noticed, I have added a "Misc." section which, at the moment, holds bands I think are worthy enough to be listened to. Check them out! See ya for now! 10-24-01: October 26th is Geno's birthday! Happy birthday, man! I must also add that my internet keeps going out, so if I don't update this page for a while, you'll know why. Word is that The Amalgamut will be Filter's best work ever. Some have been lucky enough to hear it already and say this to be true. I know March is a ways off, but keep the faith my friends; it will be worth the wait. Adios! 1-2-02: Happy New Year! Sorry, I haven't updated in a while but there is really no new news. Still waiting... Anyway, in the meantime, I highly recommend downloading "Take a Picture (Hybrid Remix)." It is the best remix I have ever heard and is the perfect song to listen to while driving!
