FL school systems into a property tax increase situation.
London bus contractors are low ball bidding below cost throughout the northeast of the U.S. The results are bad service, questionable actions by public officials and parents who force property tax increases for the school system to buy buses. Duval county already has local contractors with school buses at the lowest cost in Florida.......buying buses is unnecessary. 1. School Bus Contract Costs up 31%--- First Student bus company Became Monopoly in Tunbridge VT Area 2. School Property Taxes up 21%--- First Student school Bus Company Non Performs in Tunbridge VT -- Locals are Forced to Raise Taxes.....to Buy School Buses.....to Force this Monopoly Out. 3. School Bus Fiasco, St. Louis MO- - First Student is Short on Maintenance and of Drivers--- Locals are Livid 4. Flawed Bid Process, Jacksonville FL--- Serious Questions Are Raised by Businessmen Who Served on Bid Evaluation Committee 5. Players, Jacksonville FL--- School Board Chair Susan Wilkinson And Supt. Fryer Have Problems 6. Fryer and School Board Chair Wilkinson believe no rebid should be done, thus giving our school tax money to Queen Elizabeth's London England bus contractor: First Student-Ryder. 10. Is Duval School Supt. Fryer a Lt. Colonel Oliver North who got away? Who exactly is this man? Why does he have a temper that would get the average teacher fired? Does he have an untreated medical condition, porphyria.....which can affect judgement? 11. Added 8/13/2001: Good grief, 20 students not picked up by First Student 8/10/2001 are picked up by FL State Child Protective Services after one of Andy's callers reports children walking down the middle of the 20th street expressway to "911." Andy Johnson, WJGR 1320 AM, (904)564-2620, has "called out" First Student school bus company manager, Mr. Bruce Lyskawa, on the massive fiasco of bad bus operations on the first week of school, 8/7/2001-8/10/2001. Come on Bruce, call in to Andy Johnson's Talk Radio Program and explain why you are illegally using drivers who do not have Florida certification and Florida driver's licences and FBI background checks.... explain why you still don't have enough drivers and why 200 drivers will leave by labor day. click here for more details Added 8/16/2001: AIG Insurance officially informed that Former Florida State House Member Andy Johnson has received reports that 200 of 527 First Student bus company drivers do not hold the Florida state law required School Bus Drivers "Certificate."
