Brunch

Hi there! We've had a fun couple of days leading up to some droopy-eyed nights which is why these recaps are a little late. Although I said "fun" they were relatively light days and such is my luck that my turn to recap falls now!!

Sunday, Ysa and I woke up to find ourselves alone. I crept to the adjacent room (Lor's own bedroom) in search of our missing hostess who had been in place the night before when sleep hit. Lor was leaving for church in 10 minutes with her Mom, Dad was staying home, and she said we could fix ourselves breakfast (cereal in the unmarked area of cupboards).

Lor and Mom left and we decided to walk to the nearby grocery store and get a few eggs, a bread product and possibly a quick-serve french toast or waffle. We came back ("at this rate it will probably be 12pm by the time we eat" predictions were made) with buttermilk Eggos, english muffins, large full size egg carton, vegetarian "fake sausages" and too much stuff we can no longer remember. We got back to the Casa at the same time as Miss Lor.

Together (I did toaster items) we put together a BANG UP brunch. Lor's Mom and Dad now swear by Ysa's scrambled eggs with special chunks of veggies (vegetables by Lorraine).

We then talked for a good while with Lor's family and Lor's Mom told us we should see The Illusionist sometime and that it was showing at the Dollar theatre ($1.50- WHAT A DEAL!!!). There was a flurry - that looked like Lorraine - heading toward the internet connection to find out show times. We decided on 4:05 and what time to leave, while accounting for the fact that Lor's car clock is 6 minutes behind.

After clearing the dishes we played Scrabble for a few hours. Lor's dictionary has allowed for absolutely any word you could desire (almost), including "eh" and abbreviations for periodic table elements, DNA, Pi, Oz, etc. We (Ysa says me) lost control of our turn taking pattern ending in a standoff on who was at fault, Lor said that could be settled by us each being penalized 50 points (she was hoping to catch up to us!). Poor Lor. "Arrggg. Even if you had taken 50 points off I'd still lose".

We rushed off to the movies. Entering theatre 6 Lor was shocked to hear the screen rumbling the previews at us. She rushed back in the dark to confront the theatre staff (she was the 2nd one to tell them, which becomes a theme for Lor). Just as a magician the protagonist met in the park reached out his hands the screen went blank...Lor lept up to again confront the staff (she came back to say she was again 2nd to tell them). Lor and I LOOOVED the movie and got free tickets (for the inconvenience) to another show. Thank you management! Ysa decided she was never coming back to that theatre, due only to its location, and snubbed a ticket coupon.

Back at Lor's for the night, we watched Medium (see "Mule" conversation with Susan), some Surf II, and fell asleep happy and toasty, our three forms snuggled in the group bed. That night, no complaints of snoring.

The next morning (Monday), Lor was gone. I found her downstairs preparing breakfast in bed for us on a neat-o tray. Lor was not alone downstairs, there was a lone workman crouched in her now plastic covered general living room (as opposed to formal living room where belly dancers and magicians used to delight guests). The Casa is getting a new window. Meanwhile upstairs Ysa was struggling to fix the shower she'd broken :-D. Lor and I brough up the muffins and Guava or Orange juice. (I'm including lots of food descriptions for Lee, who we wish very much was here to COOK FOR US)

During breakfast we watched Airplane (interrupted only once by Mom telling us workman needed the power turned off for a minute, we continued breakfast by candlelight/natural light). After eating we all BURST FORTH into motion, each going our own way to get dressed/re-packed and ready to return to LA and Ysa's home.

We used a similar method of seat rotation to get ourselves happily to LA (DJ, joys & duties in back seat, driver). Lor and I found another Chevron with excellent palpable FAUX cappucino (the real kind being not to our taste). Getting told to speed my recapping up now... we dropped our many bags at Ysa's. We decided to quickly do a few things on the computer then leave for the 3rd Street Promenade (high-end outdoor shopping area) but stayed a little longer than we'd planned (the best laid plans!) when Lor took a small cat nap. Ysa bopped around and I read a few magazines. We got out the door again late afternoon and stopped at the bank, Indian Tandoori, dropped off a camera to develop the film (Remember CVS Susan? From Boston)

The Indian food was yummy, but left Ysa feeling very very full and like she needed gum. We got to see some KICKING Indian music videos or possibly it was a dvd movie (??). The waitress, after a few "Hellooooo"'s, came over and took our photo.

We drove over to the Promenade area and parked on the garage's upper most floor only to find the elevator was broken down. We walked down and to the street. We found some colouful outfits worthy of Eric/Vegas/Whathappensinblankstaysinblank, but shyness won out and they stayed in the stores. Lorraine's eyes lit up like Christmas trees at SEPHORA. Just before 8pm we started to think a lot about Susan and decided to head back home. In the car Ysa itemized the quick stops we had to make on the way, now Lorraine and I heard "pick up the PRINCE". It turned out it was "PRINTS". Our mistake.

Summing up, we're back "home" now and you know, Ysa just said "We have the bestest friends" to which Lor replied "Eric has the bestest fans".

The end.

p.s Andy will be joining us next weekend for the Las Vegas and Scottsdale stops!! She's threated to stuff any snorers with dirty socks. Eeeww.
