Intermission

Late Wednesday - Friday (10.25-10.27)

I've spun out of the Stupor orbit to take care of some personal business and attend my evening Marketing class. No late-night Rooster film fests or midnight snacking for me.

Jin: During our time without Ysa, the ever industrious team of Lor and I painted a wall the colour "Calm air" (using a 15min timer system) and went to see the Illusionist for a second time. We also rearranged the living room and thought about starting Body for Life. We certainly didn't stay in our pyjamas for more than 18hrs and our grooming the entire 2 days was impeccable!

Friday p.m. - I'm to pick up Andy and after a few false starts I get her from the airport. How can I describe Andy? Lucky for me she looked just like her photo so I recognized her right away. And then there's her incredible spirit... We stopped into a hoity-toity Bristol Farms for a bite to eat and a hostess gift (pecan pie - what can I say, I wanted to share in the spoils.) Then we headed back towards my place to pick up the car and Lor and Jin who had been waiting oh-so patiently for our rather tardy return. (Jin: We had found a cafe and snagged a free pet magazine, then read up on cat rescue.) After we had organized ourselves between two cars (big mistake said Lor), we were off to Hollywood (Blvd) to pick up some souvenirs for Jin's boyfriend and friends. There amidst the glitz and glamour and tourists with cameras we found the holy grail - fake Oscars!

45 minutes of traffic and another hair-raising drive up the side of a short mountain, we arrived at my former boss' house for a dinner party. I should say that Andy and I in the lead car arrived while Lor and Jin inched up the driveway with eyes as big as saucers. In all fairness, the driveway was a little on the steep side (about a 40 degree incline), but what the hey where else would you get that kind of adventure for free? Our hostesses brought out wine and soon the conversation was flowing again. Seated in chaises by their backyard pool, we had a bird's eye view of the surrounding neighborhoods(Silverlake, Glendale, etc.) The puppies took an instant liking to Lor (later we realized that she had sat in their favorite chair and was next to one of their toys) and showed their affection with big sloppy kisses and attempted to stand on her head a few times. While Lor seemed unruffled by the attention, Jin was little more wary (being a cat person and used to smaller less effusive pets). Dinner was also lively with more wine, pasta, and wonderful conversation. Andy and Rebecca reminisced about growing up in the Bay Area and how music just isn't the same today.

After tea, we said our goodbyes and headed north to get some shuteye at Lor's home before we took off on the final leg of the Stupor Tour - Viva Las Vegas!
