Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled
This is not the case with Jesus.  He is the truth.  He is to be believed, in whole, without a shadow of doubt.  We know that Jesus is the way, He is with us each step of the way, but dare we take that step.  We should because when He tells us the next step, it is the truth.  We can commit our entire self to it without a shadow of doubt.  Just do it, not because of blind faith but in full knowledge and confidence that what He tells us is the truth.

Jesus is the life.  He is the source of life.  He gives us life.  He leads us to life.  Every step He tells us to take is the truth and we can rest in the fact that it will lead us to life.  Many of us are afraid to take that step even if we know it is the truth because we are afraid to die if we were to make that step.  Don’t be.  Jesus gives us life, not only in this life but life hereafter.  It is life eternal in heaven.  So take that step and not be afraid to die but be assured that you will live.

You see, the only way to resolve troubles in our hearts is to have a growing intimacy with our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to a dependence on Him to take care of our troubles and not depending on ourselves.  We feel greatly troubled because we cannot give up fixing our troubles even though we acknowledge we need to cast our cares upon Him.  We can’t let go and let God because we have yet to come to a fuller appreciation of the love of Christ and our love relationship with Him is not yet intimate and sufficiently real.

Perhaps we have been a Christian for a long time and yet feel this way.  It is not uncommon because we have paid more attention to doing things than to nurturing a love relationship with Christ.  What we need to know is that without an intimate and growing relationship with Christ, our troubles will bog us down and we will not be able to be used by God.  It doesn’t matter how much we want to serve Him because He can’t use us.  Well, not just yet.  Not until our love relationship with Christ is intimate enough for us to know the heartbeat of God.  Not until He knows that we know what pleases Him and what doesn’t and we are consciously doing things that pleases Him.

In due time, we will know how to resolve our troubles just as Jesus taught the disciples.  Our troubles will not just go away tomorrow.  But rest assured it will because by learning to trust in Him, our troubles will diminish and become more manageable and will not hold us back from living.  Soon, we will have a more intimate relationship with Christ and we can see how our lives will change.

One day, we will be called to participate in God’s work.  When that happens, we will face the challenge of doing something way beyond our capability.  Not that we can do it but that God knows that we will trust Him to use us to doing it.  Then people can see that God is working in us and through us because we accomplish things that we otherwise cannot do.  This is the result of a long lasting love relationship with Jesus Christ.

Friends, let not your hearts be troubled.  Believe in God, believe in Jesus.  For He is your way, the absolute truth and He gives you life.  You cannot depend on yourself.  Trusting in Him is the beginning of that love relationship with Him.

If you have believed and yet know that your relationship with Christ is not intimate, you now know what to do.  You must not take God the Father as your Godfather.  The love relationship cannot be built in a moment in time, it takes years of your life to nurture and grow but it is worth it all.  Then when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death that you will fear no evil and that His rod and staff, they will comfort you.  Our troubles resemble this valley but can we truly say we will not fear?  That our Lord is our Shepherd?  We must and we have to learn and grow in this love relationship with Christ.

When we see Him face to face, it will be worth it all.  May God help us all in this matter and have grace upon us.
