In TPS, Shandra played many roles, most notably a nun who stepped into a trap and became an otter. (She was promptly skinned!)
TPS toured northern & southern Ontario and parts of Michigan and Quebec.
Shandra is very proud to have been part of the premiere production of TPS, as it honours Canada's most highly decorated NCO, who served in WW2 and Korea with great heroism. First Nations men served in these wars in record numbers: sometimes 70-100% of all able-bodied men from a community would go to war.
Unfortunately, thousands of Native veterans lost both their rights as status Indians and as Canadian veterans when they returned, and Tommy Prince was no exception. He had given up his Indian Status in exchange for the right to fight in the war and enfranchise as a Canadian citizen, but upon returning to Canada, he could neither vote nor enter the Legion to receive his citation from Princess Patricia. (He snuck in the back way.)
