Book Launch, September 1, 2003, 6:00 pm at Alliance Francaise de Manille
We had fun with a dance premiere of my choreography, "Kahanga-hanga ang Maging Babae!" (What an Honor to be a Woman!). I danced it myself (!), as my dancer, Wena Basco, had to back out during the last week of rehearsals due to health reasons.
Short speeches were given by Mr Philippe Normand (Director of Alliance Francaise), Dr Darleen Estuart (my partner in my pioneering Lamaze work in Davao City), Karina Bolaso of Anvil Publishing and me.
Also had a one-of-a-kind ribbon cutting (a la umbilical cord cutting) assisted by Emily Abrera of McCann-Erickson, Karina and Philippe.
Red wine and wonderful hors d'ouvre were served by Le Coude Rouge, Alliance's fine dining resto. The Swiss ambassador and his wife came, also a German embassy official, officers from health NGOs, medical school officials, print media people, my Lamaze students, friends, and family members.
