Gautier Elementary's school library houses about 6000 books for approximately 250 students. The books are chosen to appeal to a wide range of reading interests and levels.  About 70 % of the collection are Accelerated Reader titles with accompanying quizzes. Students can find a wide assortment of interesting books within thier own personsal comfort zone of reading levels.
Our nonfiction area supports and enhances the science and social studies units of the school district; but also offers students the chance to read about their own interests. Students may learn how to perform magic, fold origami figures, improve their skills in football, basketball, soccer, martial arts or many other sports. Students can read about other religions and cultures as well as the ones familar to them. Biographies introduce students to  people who may be admired or perhaps misunderstood.
Gautier Elementary School students and teachers have recertified in 2004 as eading Reading Renassaince Master School
