Do you attend OSBC events?  The Ohio State Backgammon Club (no affiliation with OSU, though presumably we’re all fans, right?)
now holds its monthly tournaments at the Spaghetti Warehouse
(that’s a restaurant, not some concrete cavern along the river!) in downtown Akron. 
Contact him or check out the Ohio State BG Website for directions and particulars if you plan to go.

Our 2006 Tournaments will be single elimination, with 11 point matches
 or occasionally 9s if the size of the crowd warrants. 
Those knocked out early on will be able to enter fun short-match side events,
which could include but are not restricted to:
Θ Quickies, a common side event at big national tourneys,
consisting of 2-point matches using the cube, gammons counting, with Crawford Rule
Θ One-point blitz matches, no cube, no gammons, just one played-out game per round
Θ Nackblitz, the most popular free event on Gamesgrid, featuring
one-point Nackgammon matches. 

What is Nackgammon?  Just the same as BG, except you start with four men back,
two on your two point in addition to the two on your ace point.
Where do they come from?  One each from your six and midpoints.
One advantage of Nack is that you virtually never lose a game in the opening,
say by splitting your back checkers, getting squashed by a 5-5,
and never really getting rolling again. Try a game of this by yourself,
if you’ve never played or watched it, and let us know if you’d want to give it a try!

Miami Valley Backgammon Club would welcome any of our players to their events.  Their tourneys take place
