Bowl of a Comedy Shrine: Ramen Ikaga!?
gg In all of my life as an admirer of Higuri You's work, I never envisioned myself composing a Ramen Ikaga!? shrine. For one, it's not one of my favourite manga, since I'm not a collector of comedy. Also, the style of her art in this manga is not my favourite, being that it is old. Granted, not as old as the one in Azel Seimaden, which, if this were an art history course, we could term 'Classic You.' However, here I am writing a shrine to this parodical, silly manga on a windy Memorial Day and it is a pleasure; no matter what You draws, somehow I am compelled to see and, even in this case, enjoy. I can attest to the fact that thousands of readers around the world also enjoy this story, since this is the one book our manga store, Sakura Ya, sells the most.Ramen Ikaga!? is a manga You must've re-evaluated or decided to expand, since there are two versions. One, the original and slightly less artistic, was published in 1995. You released a new version, with art similar to the culminating volumes of Seimaden, in 1997. The story, she left almost intact. This re-release method is not new to her, since she did the same, at an even more drastic height, with Zoku Cutlass. Today, loyal readers of her manga may read both the old version and the new version in the book published by Asuka Comics.
