Bamberg is located just an hour away from Schweinfurt.

This is the Old Town Hall. It sits on an island in the middle of the river because no one could decide which side of the river it should be built on.

This is the front of the townhall. It was built in the 15th century and later altered in 1744-1756

Below is the Maxplatz, the largest square in town, named after King Max I of Bavaria. The square is dominated by the Baroque front of the New Town Hall, that was built, actually as a priests' seminary. The Bamberg market is mainly a vegetable market thanks to the large number of market-gardeners the town still has.

Next is St. Martin's, the former university church (now parish church), commissioned by the Jesuilts and built from 1686-1693
