This is the old ammuntion building. If you look closely, you can see the little cannon balls stuck in the building, left over from when the Swiss invaded Schweinfurt. The Germans left them in as part of their heritage.

Chateaudun Park, located right next to the theatre.

This is the public transportation in Schweinfurt, the Bus Station

As you can see in this and the next picture, cars are not allowed in some ares of town. That is why people are walking in the street.

Another street picture.

Located downtown in the market square, is a statue of Fredrich Ruckert, an 18th century poet and orientalist, who was born in Schweinfurt. He could derive no pleasure from the name of his hometown as revealed in one of his short poems:

"You could have been named Mainfurt, or perhaps Weinfurt, thanks to your wine, but it had to be Schweinfurt, Schweinfurt! Thanks to a swine?"

Celebrations in Schweinfurt are held in the market square, by the Rathaus.
