Mrs. J. A. Gilbert

    Mrs. Maude O'Shields Gilbert, 86, of 67 Smythe Ave., Dunean, died in a Greenwood hospital at 10:25 am. yesterday.  For three months, she had been on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Bishop (Montene) on Marshall Road, Rt. 3, Greenwood.  She had been in declining health for a long period.
     A daughter of the late Benjamin Perry and Mary Gilbert O'Shields, she was born Jan. 20, 1879 in Clayton, Ga., and lived her early life there.  Since 1927 she had lived in the Dunean community.
     Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Dunean Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class.  Her husband, Joseph A. Gilbert, died in 1950.
     Surviving also are 2 other daughters, Mrs. G. F. Jones (Pauline) of Greenville and Mrs. J. W. Morrow (Christine) of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, J. Marlor and W. Marvin Gilbert of Greenville; 1 sister, Mrs. Anna Jones of Alto, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
