For the first time ever during the 2nd year of the My Little Pony, a new concept was introduced. Why not add other types of My Little Ponies to the My Little Pony family? Well, it was a great ideal and as a result, Sea Ponies, Rainbow Ponies, Unicorns, & Pegasi were produced. Sea Ponies were unlike any of the other My Little Ponies. The Sea Ponies were modeled after the actual sea horse which lives in the ocean. Sea Ponies did not have legs and they were meant to live in water. Sea Ponies were an unusual addition to the realm of My Little Pony. Rainbow Ponies were also new comers to the world of My Little Pony. Rainbow Ponies had hair which had different colors of stripes in it, thus their hair gave the appearance of a rainbow. See for yourself in the pictures below. Also, Unicorns & Pegasus were unique to the My Little Pony family. As you can guess, Unicorns were unicorns and the Pegasus was a pony with wings. However, Unicorns and Pegasus were not the traditional ideal of the basic pony. By producing Unicorns and Pegasus, Hasbro opened a door of imagination which would let the My Little Pony develop into a completely new world of its own. Of course, we can not forget to mention the play sets and accessories which were also produced for the first time in 1983. Dream Castle was for the first time ever produced. It came with Majesty, Spike the Dragon, and many other accessories. Today, Dream Castles can auction off from anywhere between $50-$100, depending on how complete the Dream Castle is and if it comes in its' box or not. Also, the Pretty Parlor was produced which came with Peachy and Twinkles the Kitten. The Show Stable was also produced which came along with Lemon Drop and Brandy the puppy. Sprinkles and Duck Soup the duck came with the Waterfall. Sprinkles was
first released in lavender and then in pink. And Finally, Ember (white star) was produced which was included with "Ember's Dream" cassette. Unlike the Ember, My Beautiful Baby Pony which was a Special Offer pony and had no symbol; this Baby Ember had a white star on her side.  |

Dream Castle is one of the most sought after pony accessories. One of the reasons for this is because Dream Castle was featured as the home of the My Little Ponies in the first My Little Pony cartoon, "My Little Pony". "My Little Pony" was a two part television series which was also titled "Rescue At Midnight Castle" and later on "Firefly's Adventure" after it had been re-released in 1990. Dream castle remained home of the ponies untill it buried by the smooze in "My Little Pony: the movie" made in 1986. |
