1985



In 1985, another set of ponies was added to the My Little Pony family. This was the first year that So Soft Ponies were produced. These ponies were different in that their coat had a fuzzy appearance and; of course, was "soft". See the pictures below.

Twinkle-Eyed Ponies and Baby Ponies with Beddy-Bye Eyes were also made for the first time in 1985. Twinkle-Eyed Ponies had jewels for their eyes. Baby Ponies with Beddy-Bye Eyes had eyes that could blink, giving them a sleepy, cute appearance.

Flutter Ponies were the most unique new addition to the My Little Pony family. These ponies were more slender and smaller is size compared to their larger companions. Also, their clear-through wings were detachable; and not to mention very breakable. It is hard to find a Flutter Pony who still has its' wings and it is definitely a treasure if one is found.

Pretty'n Pearly Baby Sea Ponies were coated in a glaze which gave them an enchanting glow. These sea ponies also came with their own floats. If you can find these baby sea ponies with their floats, don't pass up the chance to add them to your collection.

The Party Gift Pack contained a variety of everything that was produced that year. It contained Best Wishes which was a So Soft Pony, Party Time which was a Twinkle-Eyed Pony, Baby Frosting which was a Beddy-Bye Eyed Pony, Yum Yum which was a Flutter Pony, and Celebrate which was a Baby Sea Pony.

Megan's Place is a rare reproduction of the Show Stable from 1983. However, this was Megan's home and not the ponies' this time. Megan's place only came with Megan and not Sundance. However, it is rumored that T.J. (Megan's pony) came with Megan's place, but that can't be proven. It is not even know if T.J. does exist.
