In March '03, Shannon said he wanted to get a dog. I love big dogs and suggested a Great Dane. Shannon happily agreed, but secretly wondered what we were letting ourselves in for.
In May '03, June told us about Bella. I drove up to Gympie to pick her up and bonded with her straight away. She has the most wonderful nature and Shannon and I just adored her. After a couple of months we both decided we'd like another Great Dane. One just wasn't enough!
Once again I called June to see if she could arrange something for us. A few weeks later she phoned to say Ari was available. We went to see her that night (with Bella) and decided straight away that we would take her.
It took some time for the girls to warm to each other. Bella had been used to the sole attention of Ma and Pa - she wasn't keen on sharing the love. However, after a lovely camping trip altogether, the girls settled down.
Bella and Ari bring mountains of joy into our lives. We can't imagine being without them. They are happiest when they are hanging about with us and we take them everywhere. We would love another 2, but Council don't permit it. We could not suggest a better breed to choose. As for us, we can't believe how lucky we are, and thank June immensely for the service she runs.
