Need to Receive a Kidney Surgery
The good news is that I may have the
chance to be discharged from the army within one month, and that
will be 10 monthes earlier than the obligated term. The bad news
is to obtain this result, I might have to lose my left kidney.
On 7/25 I was admitted by Taoyun Military
Hospital (previous 804) for Rhabdomyolysis resulted from excessive
exercise in military training. This disease was later intoto cured
after three-weeks conservative treatment. However, the abdomen sonar
examination I received then revealed some unexpected abnormality
in my left kidney.
CT scan and IVP was performed later
for furthur inspectation of this problem. The CT images showed many
cysts scattered in my left kidney, while a poor efficeincy of it
was confirmed by IVP.
The diagnosis was made in 8/24. It
was declared to be ureter-pelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) with
severe hydronephrosis. According to the doc, this problem should
be caused by an inbred malformation of ureter and have been there
for years; it just skipped any possible awareness.
I'll go back to the hospital next Monday,
and take another procedure later to assess how much was left in
there to determine if a removal surgery is necessary. Though the
doctor strongly suggested me to take it out. I also had received
opposite opinions from other reliable source.
