Tips For Begginers
Entry Way
These are some general tips that every begginer should know.
1. When Fighting Always try and take the High ground. Try and possition your men on the highest possbile incline.

2. When possitioning your sword men try and spread them out 2 rows deep. If your force meets another force of same stature then the the longest one will try and flank the other.

3. Protect you General and Give him good Valor. If you General runs away or is killed/captured then the rest of your army may flee.

4. Just about always give all your men at least 1 valor. The higher the valor the less chance of them running away.

5. When fighting always try to flank your enemy (hit them from the sides or rear). This causes the other army to have to fight in more than one direction if already fighting forward, causeing fear and confusion.

6. Rock, Paper, Scissors: Calvery beats Sword men, Spear beats Calvery, and Sword men beats Spear. This is mostly true except for some differences in unit types.

Tips About Ships
It has come to my attention that there is some controversy over how to use ships in single player mode of MTW.

So I am going to try and clear it up for those who don't know.

You may find yourself asking what are ships good for, well there are many differnt reasons.  First off they help your merchants bring in more money and Secound they make it possible to attack other nations.

How do you do this you ask? Simple! First off make sure you have a province under your control by an ocean. Then build a port and other merchant related buildings. Secoundly make sure you have at least 1 ship in every part of the different Seas and Oceans between you and the country you wana Trade with or Attack. Also make sure the country you wana trade with also has a port. Now after all this you may have gone and looked at the money chart (as I so call it) and noticed that your ships are costing you money, but not making anything in return. The reason I believe for this  is because your ships arn't the ones making money from this because it's your merchants who are making the money. So far this is what I am lead to believe after constatly questioning these facts myself. If anyone finds any different information please by all means e-mail me.
Now on to the Attacking part. After you have your ships in place between your ports and enemy province instead of trying to drop you men on the ships (which doesn't work) drop them on the piece of land that you made the ship route to. Also some more advice regaurding ships. If you wana greatly reduce the costs of having your ships at sea then make ports at every province that has connection to the oceans and seas.
