Under Construction
NATIV SUN, a band based in Northern California from the Bay Area to the Sacramento Valley, specializes in "smooth relaxing music - island style."  Their repertoire consists of a variety of styles including Hawaiian, Pilipino, Tahitian, Easy Listening and Rock 'n' Roll.  They hope to spread aloha and mana`o to the masses through their music.
In August of 1998, Ross and Marc (Ha`aheo) got together at their parents' house for a visit.  Ross was eager to show Marc an ukulele that he was learning to play and let him listen to a tape that he and Wil had just recorded.  They taped two Hawaiian songs.  Ross played the ukulele, and Wil picked his guitar in Hawaiian slack key style as the two of them sang in harmony.  Then they recorded the two songs again, this time Ross played his bass guitar instead of the uke.  Marc picked up Ross' uke and began to play a different Hawaiian song.  Much to Ross' surprise, Marc was learning to play as well.  That night, Marc invited Ross to his place to show him a baritone ukulele that he played.  Excited about the fact that his brother shared their interest in Hawaiian music, he called Wil to give him the news.  Wil then suggested to Marc and Ross that the three of them get together for a jam session.  A few weeks later, they all met at Wil's house.  With Ross on the bass guitar, Wil on slack key guitar and Marc on uke, they played songs for hours, and NATIV SUN was born.
BIRTH
ENTER THE CONGAS
Several months later, they were asked to play at a relative's party in Daly City, CA.  Marc and Ross were asked to bring their other brothers and sister for a small reunion.  Only one of the sibs was available to attend.  Merlin accompanied the band to the party and was invited to sit in with them on the congas.  The aloha bug bit, and with Merlin as the new percussionist, the trio became a quartet.  They continue to define their unique sound with mellow music and harmonious vocals.
