Ross was born in California and raised in different parts of the Bay Area. His interest in music begn at home when his dad played the guitar, piano and harmonica frequently. Ross is the second eldest of six: four braddahs and one sistah, all musically talented in various manners. When he was in junior high school, Ross began taking private bass lessons, thanks to surrounding influences at home and, of course, the radio. Bands like Confunkshun, Earth Wind & Fire, Lakeside and the Dazz Band caught Ross' ear and drew his interest to the sound of serenity. "There's nothing sweeter than listening to the beautiful sounds of 4-part harmony." Ross credits the church choir with being the most uplifting and heartwarming experience of his singing career. Years later, Ross encountered that same uplifting and heartwarming feeling once again thanks to his braddahs, who introduced him to the most relaxing, most meaningful music --- the sounds of Polynesia. "Thanks for sharing, braddahs and aloha Nativ Sun..." |
