Well, this "finale" to the EVIL DEAD series (originally planned as "Mid-Evil Dead") shows us where the Deadites (those nasty, evil, dead, menaces) come from. The place strangely resembles medieval Scotland, or France, or some other forgein crap-house! But, who's keepin' score? Well, after proving he's better than a bunch of serfs, Ash becomes a savior of those who once shunned him (sounds like MY life!). He goes on a little "quest" in which he battles the undead, and their leader... his evil dead twin! After swiping the Necronomicon (thank you H.P.!) and unleashing the full power of the Deadites, Ash and his new found allies fight the bastards off and blow up the resurrected "Evil Ash". Peace and harmony is achieved by the two warring kingdoms, and Ash goes back to his "adventurous" life as mild mannered housewares manager at the local S-Mart (shop smart, shop S-Mart!), and he blows away one stray Deadite. My only real problem with this movie was Ash replacing his chainsaw hand with some robo-hand. Three words explain my feelings on the hand: LOAD O' CRAP! But, despite that, the other shit makes up for it! Plus, look for multiple (at least ONE) scenes poking fun at/paying homage to other Sci-Fi/Horror flicks. Try to find the Director's Cut (FINALLY widely released by Anchor Bay), where you get to see scenes cut from the theatrical release, as well as the original ending Raimi planned (which the producers thought was too "depressing") which I found to be better than the "S-Mart Ending". Finally, if anyone out there can get me a copy of "Captain Supermarket" I'll give them immortality! Or, I'll wash their car! Take your pick!
