First off, this blaxploitation's title is wrong! Frankenstein was the doctor's name! The doc in this movie is white! So, it's not the black Frankenstein, it's the black monster! But, "Blackenstein"'s a better title, so I can live with it. Problem? It takes a hell of a lot more than a good title to make a good movie! And, this one was NOT a good movie! It wasn't even mediocre! We've got Joe De Sue in the role of the monster, probably trying to pull a Karloff and become a legend for saying "Grrrr" and "Unnnh", but it's quite apparent that his scheme didn't work, ain't it! Besides, that whole Karloff thing was a fluke to begin with! Well, this movie has De Sue as a paraplegic who agrees to become a guinea pig for the man (Dr. Stein) because he thinks the doc can give him new limbs. But, thanks to a jealous neanderthal named Malcolm (who wants Winny, Eddie's bitch), Eddie gets turned into a monster, who escapes at night to terrorize honkeys! BUT HE KEEPS RETURNING TO THE LAB! Why? Who cares! All that matters is that Eddie's disemboweled by police dogs, and that brings an end to this tragedy! Thank you K-9! But, Jim Belushi can kiss my hairy, ebon ass!
