The formula of life is a bad one. For every good thing that happens, a multitude of bad things occur. For all those good episodes of "the Simpsons", we're suffering through season after season of crap now. For every kid who grows up to realize their dreams, there's another 25 that wind up dead or working at Burger King. Never is this law more apparent, than in the horror genre. For every DAWN OF THE DEAD, there are 15 REVENGE OF THE LIVING ZOMBIES. Say hello to just one of those 15 RoLZ: CITY OF THE WALKING DEAD. It's a Spanish/Italian zombie flick about a crew of airplane passangers who get bombarded by radiation, turning them into the most well dressed bloodthirsty zombie mutants to come out of a European horror movie. Long story short, they go about the countryside, slashing, harpooning, and mauling the citizens, drinking their fill of blood and chowing down on some flesh. They can only be stopped by the usual "bullet to the head". In the end, it turns out to be all a dream that somebody had.. or does, "the nightmare become reality"?.. I no longer care. The make-up on these zombies was beyond pathetic. The gore was okay, but nothing spectacularly disgusting. As for the acting and such, it was all dubbed over, so I have no idea if any of the original people were any good. I can say one thing though, the voice actors who did the dubbing should find new jobs, because talking is obviously beyond their talents. Times like this are why I hate NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Yes, it was an excellent movie, far beyond many zombie movies that had proceeded it, but it's like a zombie sperm bank! Independent or uninspired filmakers dip into it for "inspiration", and wind up plagurizing it, which results in a multitude of bastardized offspring spread through out the world, mostly coming from Italy. Sometimes an established horror classic just isn't worth it... "I feel like someone who's waiting for the hatchet guy to chop off his head"... Hey, the law of averages never lies.
