Waxwork

(1988)

This movie's not bad, despite it's plot holes. WAXWORK is about 4 wise cracking preppies and their excursion to a midnight waxwork show, in a wax museum that has a couple little strange quirks to it... such as the time warp portals at every display... AND THE MIDGET DOORMAN! ALRIGHT! Gods how I love a good midget... doesn't even have to be a good midget, ANY midget will do! Well, each display has a portal to a different time and place. All of which lead the person right into the waiting clutches of one of 18 evil people... or wolves... or whatever the hell they are! The werewolf scenario had a stupid looking wolf and the thing as a whole was stupid, but the part where the guy gets ripped in half was fun to watch! There's a vampire dinner scene, which turns into a BUFFY episode complete with loads of gore and impalement. Well, after these 2 victims fall to the evil of the WAXWORK, the other 2 leave, thinking their friends just ran off to fuck in the bushes. But, the 2 remaining preppy bastards decide to pull a Hardy Boys and try to figure out what the fuck is going on. Well, it turns out there are 18 artifacts, belonging to 18 EVIL people (vampire, mummy, zombie, etc), and each artifact have spells on them that cause people to be dragged into battle with these EVIL people. After someone has been killed by each of the artifacts' owners, the guys and gals (and whatever else they are) are brought back into the real world. And guess what? They just filled their quota... But, the 2 kids are in luck, because to back them up is... THE LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS TROUPE! Yep, a group of walking fossils are in the battle against the bad guys, and somehow manage to defeat the 18 uglies and their 18 revived victims-turned-minions. How? How else? THEY BURN THAT MOTHERFUCKER TO THE GROUND! MWA-HA-HA-AH-AH-AHA-HA-HA-HA-HA! Hey, works for me. Oh, and just in case you thought there wouldn't be a chance for a sequel... here comes a severed hand, crawling from the blaze! Maybe I'll watch the sequel, maybe not... who knows?
