What Is Telephone Triage Nursing ?
Nurses do not make medical diagnoses. Nurses follow approved protocols or receipes when offering advice. They provide information and offer triage . This is another word for the medical  "sorting " of a person's problem. Nurses offer help based on the symptoms a person describes. Critical thinking skills are used to plan, assess, implement and evaluate the assistance needed by callers. Telephone triage nurses depend on the information provided by the caller to help address their illness symptoms..
