Tie Your Beliefs To A Personal Cause
by Ty Howard
"Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around."
~ Henry David Thoreau
Have you ever stop to think about how many rungs there are on the ladder of prosperity?
Do you find yourself consistently climbing up or constantly sliding down your ladder of prosperity?
Do you even believe such a ladder exists?

Metaphorically, such a ladder does exist. And everyone's climb, descend and experience is different.
For the weak person, they don't know how to begin their climb.
For the frightened person, they're too afraid to touch the ladder.
For the mediocre person, they've got better things to do then climb.
And there's the person who takes a few steps up, reaches a point of not knowing how to take the next step—so they stop.

Right now you are working steadily toward a future that you choose, whether you're taking action, going from one extreme to the next, or doing absolutely nothing.
Who you are right now is a direct reflection of the choices you've made in life up to this point.
You have the potential to do many great things.
Regardless of how much you have going for you, no matter how low you've fallen, nothing will come of it unless you make it a constant effort to focus the majority of your beliefs upon a single personal cause. A cause that will drive you higher and higher up your ladder of prosperity—each… and every day.
On a clean sheet of paper, right now, write down the names of three people you recognize as a leader in any field of endeavor. Then write beside each name a three-sentence paragraph on why you see this person as a true leader in your eyes. I guarantee you that after writing down the three names and a paragraph description of why these people are leaders, you will see that they all have an identifiable "Belief System" tied to a personal cause.
A life with a meaningful cause empowers you to overcome obstacles which long ago would have stopped your mere interest or forced you to settle for mediocrity… and sometimes less.
A single drop of water is so light and fragile that it can be blown around by the slightest breeze. When that small drop falls upon even the most delicate object, it yields to that object and rolls off it. However, if that same small drop of water is combined with enough other small drops into a powerful flood, it is virtually unstoppable. Even the strongest structure can fall victim to floodwaters.
Your beliefs tied to a meaningful personal cause can be just as powerful as floodwaters. Scattered, random beliefs have little effect. They can be twisted and redirected by the slightest disruption.
Focused, systematic beliefs tied to a meaningful personal cause can lead to a mighty forceful positive change. A change that will knock open and flood your gateway of prosperity with endless joy, abundance and success. Not only for yourself—for the people you serve within the vision of your cause as well. This will give your life true meaning and purpose.
Susan B. Anthony believed in the rights of women. She organized a group of like-minded advocates who met frequently to discuss their convictions. A Sons of Temperance meeting in Albany, New York, where Anthony was a delegate, refused to let her take the platform to speak. This anti-woman action prompted Anthony and her supporters to initiate the Women's State Temperance Society of New York.
Anthony spent her life promoting women's rights. Although her campaign to include women in the Fourteenth Amendment never succeeded, she had the honor of seeing the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment before her death in 1920.
John Dryden said, "They can conquer who believe they can." And, we should add, who are willing to tie their beliefs to a meaningful personal cause.
You too are more then capable of conquering what you believe in and tapping into your full potential.
Uncontrolled beliefs alone won't get you anywhere. Tying your beliefs to a meaningful cause will touch your soul, the souls of others, and move you relentlessly toward fulfilling your life's greatest possibilities… your life's mission.
What is that one thing… the one cause… that would make your life a joy to wake up to serve each day?
If money wasn't an issue and failure not an option, what specific group of people would you dedicate your life to helping?
If you had a magic wand and could only fix one thing in the world today, what one thing would you fix?
Answer the above three questions and you'll fine your meaningful cause!
Tie your Beliefs to your Cause… and let that drive you constantly from this moment forward.
Remember: "People who say it's never possible are those who have never tried themselves."
In life it's not about what you're driving, it's about what drives you.
Now—get up, get going and make prosperity happen. Go climb higher and higher on your ladder today, and each day following!
