| All the animals are more happy when you leave them outside on a sunny day. The only way to get golden eggs and golden milk to finish the cake ending is to leave your cows and chickens out on sunny days. If it rains and the animals are out, they will get sick, and you will have to pay 500G for animal medicine, cure one animal, and run back to get medicine for another animal. Just think if you horse, dog, five cows, and 6 chickens all got sick. An animal that is sick will be sick for three days before dying and being buried to the right of the barn. Cows Cows grow from the medium stage if you buy them, and from the calf stage if you have another cow get pregnant. Unlike the other Harvest Moon games the cows and chickens grow up fast. Cows like to be outside and can give small, medium, large, and maybe gold milk when they are in the adult stage. Cows that give gold milk don't give it everyday, and they have to be especially happy to give it. Cows eat fodder which can be made after you cut three pieces of grass from your field. Chickens Chickens start out from the egg stage, go to the chick stage, and finally become adults. The day after a chicken becomes an adult it will lay eggs if you feed it. Chicken feed can be found at the ranch and you can buy it from Bob. You can also buy chickens from Bob, but the smartest thing to do is to buy an egg from the Supermarket and put it in the incubator. Chickens give normal eggs and then maybe golden eggs. A chicken will only give golden eggs occasionally and it has to be extremely happy. Horse You get a horse after proving to Bob that you can handle your animals. You have to have some chickens and at least one cow for him to bring you a horse. I think you have to have two cows. You have to have worked part time on his ranch to get a horse. You can tell you are about to get a horse when you start making friends with the horses and saying different things to them like "you're are good boy". You can get a different horse in this game than the regular horse. It all depends on what horse you talk to first when you work on the ranch part time. The first horse you get a different reaction to is the horse you will get. Horses eat fodder which you have to cut from your field. You can also put your horse outside in the pasture with the cows and chickens. It makes the horse happy when you ride it, but you can't ride it at first. If you are trying to complete the Horse Race Event you must be good to your horse. You can choose between the gray, tan, black, red, and dark brown horse. Dog You can get a dog if you put food in the bowl everyday. It lures the two wild dogs to your farm. Do not approach the dog until you have fed it for at least two weeks. Otherwise it will take longer to get it. You can choose between the basic dog and the wolf looking dog. When your dog doesn't run too fast from you when you chase it, you can hit X to pick it up and name it. From then on it is your dog. Your dog doesn't really do much, but you can get a flute from Louis if you make friends with him, and you can teach your dog tricks with the flute. |
