2002:

March 09 - Curtis @ Halo, nightclubb (Edmonton)
What can I say about Curtis' preformance other than it blew me away!!! Ive never seen a show like that and I have a new appreciation of music. I'm serious when I say it was a life altering experience. I loved that he mixed original lyrics with classic songs also how amazing was it that he preformed on the dance floor wit everyone dancing around him. That in itself gave the show a whole different flavour becuase you felt like you were an equal with the artist unlike most shows that you go to where the artists are gods and you their follower. So yeah I had a great time shaking my ass on the dancefloor. I give the show an A++++. Also lest not forget the incredible Dj Junior Brown ( I bought his c.d by the way, it kicks ass).

March 16 - J.I.F at the sugar bowl (Edmonton)
As I sat at the table in the back, I patiently awaited the beginning chord of my favorite local artisti Jay, Ian, and Fred... Having seen them preform on 3 different occasions as J.I.F (smoothe like peanut butter) I thought I knew what to expect. But like it happens everytime with those boys I was in for a little surprise. Their cool grooves and sweet moves made it an ecclesiastical experience. Ian was smoking like fire... His voice at first seemed a little tired but by the end of the third piece he sounded better than Otis Redding. Not only did Ian sound great, but the togetherness of the music (thanks to those boys Fred and Jay) still moves me today. They were on top of every chord, smiling and passionately involving themselves with every phrase. I must say that it was probably one of the most fulfilling shows that I have seen from J.I.F. The tri is really comming along and I hope that places such as the Sugar Bowl keeps them comin'... Those boys are real entertainment with soul! I think the Sidetrack needs a group like that in coalition with Hi-Phoniqs, half and half... I think I might die!
