~O To Be Like Thee~

This is one of my favorite old Hymns.
Sometimes I think that we sing the Words of hymns in church,
but don't always consider the wonderful "truths" they offer

O to be like Thee, Blessed Redeemer
This is my constant longing and prayer
Gladly I'll forfeit all of Earth's treasures
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear
O to be like Thee
Full of compassion, Loving, Forgiving
Tender and Kind
Helping the helpless , Cheering the fainting
Seeking the wandering sinner to find
O to be like Thee, While I am pleading
Pour out Thy Spirit, Fill with Thy Love
Make me a temple meet for Thy Dwelling
Fit me for Life and Heaven above.
~CHORUS~
O to be Like Thee, O to be Like Thee
Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou Art
Come in Thy sweetness,
Come in Thy Fullness

Written By Thomas O. Chisolm

As Christians it should be our hearts desire to be more like Jesus.
To always be full of compassion, Loving, Forgiving, tender and kind.
But in our humanness, we are not always so obedient.
We go to church every week, we "talk" about our Faith with others.
BUT IS THAT ENOUGH?

Let's Read
I Corinthians 4:18~20
"Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.
But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power"
~NIV~

Paul had heard some disappointing news about how the Corinthians were behaving.
He wanted them to realize that they shouldn't just "act like Christians" when he was around.
Many people are very good at talking about their Faith...but that's as far as it goes.
"All Talk and no action"
They know all the right words to say, but their lives don't display their words in action
Paul was trying to tell the Corinthians that the Kingdom of God is to be LIVED OUT
not just talked about. There's a big difference between knowing all the right words to say
and actually LIVING THEM OUT

Remember..."Actions Speak Louder than Words"

"LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE"

Remember that little song you sang in Sunday School?

"This little Light of mine...I'm gonna let it shine"

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand,
and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven"

~matthew 5:14-16~

"Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves.
Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says
is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, and after looking at himself,
goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
But the man who looks intently into the perfect Law that gives freedom
and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-
he will be blessed in what he does."

~James 1:22-25~

"If we're gonna TALK the TALK, we've gotta WALK the WALK"

I pray this page will perhaps inspire atleast one person to
examine their "Walk with the Lord"
and to ask Jesus to:
