equipment & gear
exploring new territories
when I first started playing, it was easy. Drums & pots and cans were everywhere, and a straight solid piano
was available. Then the Hammond Organ swept me off my feet...I was in Love. But it changed...radically...
I never thought i would leave my first love, and hang out with the electric & electronic keyboards..synthesizers
etc....but hey!    -As they say; "You never Know ! "..and I shure didn't .

At the moment I am learning how to use the new equipment from Yamaha & Apple. It's exiting and challenging. so far I've used the S-80 Keyboard in production and composing. Fat, huge acoustic piano sounds, a wonderful analouge pad sound called
Oberweich..from the legendary Oberheim. I have been a huge Moog - fan, and Yamaha has some good samples of the classical Minimoog. I had my first Minimoog in 1973...so I know what I'm talking about ! Electric pianosounds are not easy to "fake", but I am satysfied with Yamaha's repertoire here also; tight and phat, crystal clear and as "foggy" as You want. Since my first Fender Rhodes in 1975, I've played 5 - 6 of them to pieces. Even had to leave one of them in The Soviet Union in 1979, when touring with Jan Garbarek, Jon Christensen and writer Jan Erik Vold. They said it was too heavy to bring on board...I got it there, so no one understood the action. These days information, no matter what context, is stored in huge amounts on small chips as we know..so carrying equipment is almost out of the question in some cases. I'm experimenting with a Yamaha Sampler also, plus the CS6X synthesizer wich has a wide variety of sounds. The Mac G4 must be experienced ! Smooth and fast. Read more about it
at www.apple.com. Burning CD's  - working with DVD etc..
Some times I just want to play an acoustic piano, with a good PA...so I play in a Salsaband on a weekly basis. After 3 sets I'm achin' to get back to my "babies" though...eager to learn more and explore the possibilities they offer. I must say Thank You to the people at Apple Norway; Andreas & Tina, and Yamaha Fella's Vidar & Erik. I know many people are waiting for the new
Grafitti CD, and I am happy to see such a warm and exited response !
My plan & mission now is to get my studio moved down in the basement here in this beautiful house I live in. So book me for
work !!     I need it bad !    ......See Yalls around !                                                                                               HGraf feb-2001
This sites is under construction, so daily updating is taking place. The photos are showing some of my current gear at the moment. Some quality instruments indeed. On the left some Apple,- as you can see, and on the right Yamaha. Further down on the page I've written some comments on my current situation, and what I'm doing. Right now producing several CD's for other artists are taking place. From pakistany rai-like dancefunk...I call it "Tandoori Funk "  - to pop - R&B songs. Exploring these products makes it fun & exiting.
Check back in a few days, and please leave a comment in my guestbook on mainpage.
