This movie is about a legend that takes place every 1000 years. The legend says that within a certain group of seven days a comet can be seen, and of course the movie takes place during those seven days. As our heros Ash, May, Brock, and Max come across a Pokemon Theme Park, they meet the mysterious Pokemon called Jirachi, who emerges from a cocoon belonging to a magician at the park. What possible connection does Jirachi have to the Wishing Star of Seven Nights? And how did the magician discover Jirachi's cocoon in the first place? Well, you'll just have to watch the movie for yourself to find out!

In regards to its release in North America, Miramax has stated that due to the low turn out for the two previous, limited-release Pokemon movies, they won't be releasing this film in theaters. The good news is that Kids WB! has decided to make this a direct-to-video release, meaning that the only way to see this movie, is to buy it on DVD or VHS once it's dubbed.
