FACILITIES OF PAYMENT ESTIMATED BY SICILIAN REGION FOR THE
SICILIAN EMIGRANTS
(Regional Laws n. 55/80 - n. 38/84)
The Sicilian emigrant workmen, who have worked for three
years in the last five years of stay abroad or who have worked for five
years in the last seven years of residence in the continent of Italy, are
entitled to facilities of payment such as:

HOUSE-LOAN |
The Sicilian Region pays a three quarters interest on a bank loan for
the purchase, the building or the restoration of houses in Sicily. The
loans last 15 years and the workman, in addition to a capital, will pay a
3% interest on a loan. At present the Sicilian Region grantes him 148
million lire at the most. |

WORKING ACTIVITY |
The Sicilian Region grantes the funds to the people who want to carry
on an intense working activity in Sicily. For a commercial, tourist or
fishing activity the Region grantes 75 million lire at the most; for an
agricultural or zootechnic activity a hundred million lire at the most and
for a little industrial activity 150 million lire at the most. The funds
are granted for immovables, movables and equipments. The interest rate is
a 4% for 15 years. When the activity begins the other funds will be
granted and will be payed off in three years. |

The same workmen, even if they are emigrants from a short time, are
entitled to other facilities, such as:

COLONIES AND CAMPINGS |
The Sicilian Region, through the Emigrants Associations, gives
Sicilians' sons the possibility of doing sea and mountain colonies (from 6
to 12 years old) or campings (from 12 to 18 years old) localized in
Sicily. |

LEARNING TRAVELS |
The Sicilian Region, through the Emigrants Associations, organizes
learning travels in Sicily for emigrant's under age sons. |

SOCIAL TOURISM |
The Sicilian Region pays a 70% of charges in favour of the sicilian
emigrants abroad for a cultural tourist stay in Sicily for two or three
weeks. The stay is granted to the people who don't come more in Sicily for
a long time and who want to know the most important aspects of our
Island. |
