I have often wondered if �Perry� was the maiden name of William�s mother. The name was spelled "Bingerman" on the 1860 census, but the family went by the spelling "Bingaman." He was a respected farmer in the Black Hawk community. His tombstone reads, �Gone to sleep, thy journey ended Peacefully laid down to rest and even now thy spirit�s blended with the angels and the blest Sweetly asleep out dear Grandfather We will meet thee by and by.� There is also a picture of a heart in a hand. It is at marker 100 F in Spring Creek Cemetery, Black Hawk, Iowa. 2nd Great Grandmother Ellen C Bingaman b 27 Jul 1848 in Ohio d 25 Apr 1907 at LaPorte City, Black Hawk, Iowa bur. at Spring Creek Cemetery, Black Hawk, Iowa, Row 18 m 1 Jun 1871 to Aquila Walker at LaPorte City, Black Hawk, Iowa Ellen�s father, William Perry, and her husband, Aquila farmed on adjacent farms that were part of the original Geren homestead that belonged to William�s wife�s family. Bingaman/Bingamin in the 1840 US Census Brown County, Ohio � � � � William Perry Bingaman could be the son of James Bingamin, or George Bingamin, or John Bingaman. This hasn't been determined yet. There is a Perry family living in the same county, and this could be the family of the wife of one of these men if William Perry Bingaman was named after his mother's family.
