The why's and how's of my weight loss

Why lose weight?

*** health reasons - I want to feel better, less tired and have more energy. I want to be less prone to many of the things being heavy can lead to!

*** I want to be seen for who I am, not what size I am.  I never want a size 2 at the dept store to eye me up and down and then with distain tell me where to find the "big womans clothes" again!

*** I want to buy any style of clothes I like, not just the few made in larger sizes - and I want to buy them at any store I want!

*** I want to live a long life - I want to be around for great grandkids!

*** I want my husband to be proud of me and find me more physically attractive.

*** I want to fit in the chairs at restraunts and movies with room to spare.

*** I want to set a happier and healthier example for our kids.

*** I want to be more comfortable with my body - and not be embarassed by it.

*** I want to run and play with out getting out of breath in the first 2 minutes.

How am I losing my weight?

I want to start by saying that I have tried unsuccessfully for many many years to lose the weight. However, my weight  has steadily risen rather than declined!  I have tried many many diets, and always have failed - usually on day one, because for me the simple notion that there is something I am not allowed to have, is enough to throw me violently into eat everything but the kitchen sink mode.  I tried just one part of the Phen Phen diet - I cant even remember which one it was. By the 6th day, I was so dizzy that I couldn't even stand up straight, let alone function! Around a year or so later I tried Redux. I felt great, and I did lose 25 pounds. It was pulled from the market, so I (obviously) went off of it.  For a long time after that I told myself that if it were ever re-released that I would go back on it in a heart beat. Now, I feel differently. By the way, after I went off the Redux, I gained it all back plus 10 more pounds. I tried Meridia, but only for about 10 days, I didn't feel like it was doing anything for me, and was begining to feel like I shouldn't be using the drugs as an answer.  In February I joined Weight Watchers after losing 8 pounds in a couple weeks, just following the 123 plan. I simply couldn't believe how easy it was! I feel great and now I realize that the reason I felt so good on the redux, was the same reason I feel good now, I was relieving my body of extra baggage that was robbing me of energy!! I wouldn't leave the WW123 now for anything, it is so simple, there isn't anything I can not have, therefore, I do not often feel like eating down the house!   The foods aren't anything special - just everyday healthy stuff, so my family doesn't have to be subjected to "diet" food.  I have learned so much about my eating habits, and what is healthy and what is a serving size - this has been an eye opener!!  So that is the secret - Weight Watchers 123 - so easy I can do it, and if I can do it, you can too!
