David Eddings published his first novel, High Hunt, in 1973, before turning to the field of fantasy and The Belgariad, soon followed by The Malloreon. Dave was born in Spokane, Washington, in 1931, and raised in the Puget Sound area north of Seattle (where High Hunt, The Losers and Regina's Song are set.) He recieved his Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, in 1954 and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1961. He has served in the United States Army, has worked as a buyer for the Boeing Company, has been a grocery clerk and college English Teacher. Leigh Eddings has collaborated with her husband for more than a dozen years. The Eddings now live in the Southwest of the United States. Writing to the Eddings David Eddings does not have an official web site or an email address. He doesn't "have ---or want---a computer". So, to contact the Eddings, you can write to the following address: David Eddings c/o Del Rey Books 201 E. 50th St. New York, NY 10022 U.S.A. It took about a month or so for them to write back to me. If you enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope I'm sure they would write back just as quickly. |
